No, actually it wasn't. But the answer was there pretty quickly in post count, along with the Mobil1 bashing. Maybe uncalled for, but for those of us that have been here a while, it's no "news" to us. So while you see it as harsh, or mean, the most of us DO know what we are talking about in relation to rod bearing failure associated with the use of Mobil1 Synthetic.

And as far as scientific proof, I don't have any. What I have SEEN with my own eyes, is more engine failures than I can count on both hands that were run on Mobil1 Synthetic oil. Might not be as scientific as you wanted it, but it's proof enough for me to not let that oil ever be run in any of my engines again.

He knows what I know, and has been around to see it happen. He shouldn't even waste his energy writing the response that will more than likely have the thread closed... :D

Dude you are such a tool. Someone who is a Subaru Tech answers your question and your response is a smart ass one?

Not only have you now insulted a bunch of engine builders, local gurus and people who have had this happen to them before.... but the dude that could maybe still help you answers you after all of this BS and your response is a smart ass one. I hope you pay 110% retail on this fix from Subaru.

    Oh... and

    Knock Knock

It's still a rod bearing failure, no matter how many times you listen to it. The more it's run, the more it damages.

The disrespect you recieved is due to asking for help, recieving help and then ****ting on the help. So in that case you deserve the ****ting on. I would highly recommend listening to Fugi or to DB performance in Rogers.

Original poster dude, I don't know, like in Japanese, or maybe any culture, there's some element of respect when asking a question. Sometimes you will get noise back, but there is always good info if you wait for it.

phi11, the Rod Stewart knocking picture was hilarious

Figured I bump this because I want all you A-holes to give me feed back that I won't listen too...

98' impreza Wgn 2.2 with 265*** + on it. Has a slight slap during start up. I tend to get the standard valvoline at a rapid oil change place... But now that I have my own garage I'm going to be doing my own maintance :)... What oil weight and brand should I be using??? Does the new high mileage oil work better???

    Let the flaming begin...
    Thanks,
    Dean

if you want you can run some 10w30 in the summer, otherwise 5w30 non syn (of any kind) will work great in that engine, 2.2s are NOT picky.
