Talk to Vector, otherwise www.get-primitive.com sells them. Takes them about a week for turnaround+shipping.

    Regardign a skidplate.

I'm 99% sure the last couple in my garage have homes they just haven't gotten to yet. But I'll double check.

I can make more before Dirty Jack, but I wouldn't be able to start on them until a week and a half from now at the earliest, so it would be a close thing. So if anyone wants one ($130 for 3/16" 02-07 impreza, should fit any Impreza-based car, so includes OBS and Forester), let me know in the next week.

Plus I need to finish up customizing Sheen's first.

    Rut row...

I may have just found a dedicated RallyCross car.

Those of you who know me from the days of RallyX, this might not be far from where I used to be in... I just need to find a place to keep the thing because my wife won't let me keep it at home...

    More the merrier!

I might have some guys from the scoob dealer in Moorhead coming down to race with their old legacy beater they picked up for a song.

Apparently they were going to try and make oktoberfest, but something broke on it so they stayed home.

I believe its Matt in service, and Tristan in sales. They picked up a legacy around Ojibwe time this year, and have been gutting it out, along with tooling around in gravel lots and fields and such. The whole racing thing came up in conversation with Kevin (service manager guy) when he was asking why I wanted to have my engine/tranny oil changed ahead of schedule, then he brought up their legacy .. I showed them the LoL region website, and it kinda went from there.

But then I heard today when calling about my brake rotors that their car is acting up, so they had to skip oktoberfest. :( Hopefully they get it back together in time for this one.

Hey boomer, if we do get fun runs this time around, you're welcome to try out my car like we talked about last time. Only thing is, I got dibs on the passenger seat, 'cause I gotta see how you take the course. Hopefully without a debead ;)

Gotta see how much harder I'll have to push to get on the podium in PA next season...

Let's go people. Last one of the season and a course that's a mile long, should be spectacular. Lunch will be provided for donations to Apple Tree Dental on site so you won't have to run all over to try and find food.
Don't forget, this is good practice for the "ice races" as well.

i was planning on accidentally letting the air out of boomers tire, so he'd debead again. Then i planned on wrapping his car up like a damn mummy.

    :D

EDIT: do you have pics of that, by the way?

Mr. utecht (or whoever else might know)

Do you think it would be possible to organize a day of fun runs or a instructional type thing using this venue some weekend after the rallyx?

I was really looking forward to having the longer laptimes, so i could have some time to focus on preparing for corners, rather than having the lap be over as soon as i got into the rythmn. It occured to me that this would be a good place to just practice. I know i personally really need some actual seat time and help, as my current laptimes are coming from vaguely pointing the car where i want it to go and pressing the fun pedal.

A day beside the rallyx would let us focus less on keeping the event moving and competing, and more on really deliberately learning how to handle the car.

Not THIS venue, but stay tuned for details about a MNSOC winter car control event this winter...

also, what happened? Did you run through a pile pile of banner tape or something? ;):laugh:

    ^this^

    But also...

It is quite possible to arrange a "RallyCross School" the logistics aren't that much more difficult than a typical RallyCross, but like a normal event, you have to weigh the costs and the demand.

A school can be done under the same sanction/insurance setup as a competition, so the mechanism is in place. But the venues cost money, and the sanction costs money, and the insurance costs money, and it costs to tow in the equipment, etc, etc. Depending on the venue we might not even break even until we get 15-20 entrants. How many people are we really going to get for a school? How many did we get a couple years ago at Corcoran for the RX school? I don't know, but it wasn't a huge number.

Plus, you need instructors. I think we have enough people in the region who could be effective at this, but speaking for myself personally, while I'd be happy to do it, I'm not going to pay $40 to teach. So my portion of the sanction and insurance has to be covered out of the entry fee, and that's going to be true for most people willing to be instructors.

Well, you don't need instructors if you just want a "trial & error" type day, but I think the value of having some instructors would be a lot more (and I just came from 4 days of people calling me out on my bad habits, over and over and over ).

I'm actually not trying to discourage anyone from doing this, I'm just trying to set a reasonable level of expectations.

I can't speak for the landowner in Cannon Falls, but I expect that if someone wanted to do this, that at least one of the others we use would be available yet this fall/early winter.

The real question is, how many people would be willing to pay?
