I'm in class right now, otherwise I'd be at the party.

Also to note, I'm not going to be able to make the rallyx. I was second in line to get the day off work, and it just didn't happen.

 

Well, after hitting the shindig at Morrie's tonight, I might be tasting the Kool-Aid this weekend.

Any worry about too much snow in the paddock? I'd just like to know beforehand if there is a cancellation as I have a heck of a drive.

 

Basically it will get tested in the morning. Someone will take a car around on the field and gauge if it's usable. The only time it gets canceled is if it's so muddy that cars will get stuck. That's simply a matter of precipitation, but it is nice that it hasn't rained frequently and the ground isn't frozen yet. The snow will be cleared very quickly, and it will probably be just a touch muddy. It's not going to rain Sunday, so it will clear and dry. I'm expecting the course to be very fast later in the day, possibly like the last event. I'm curious to see how much snow there might be. There isn't much down in Rochester and much of it is already melting. Rain equivalent precip is pretty low. Note that 5 inches of the wet snow we have equals just 1 inch of rain. I think the current rain equiv in the Cannon Falls area is just 0.2 inches.

 

is anyone bring an air compressor? Trying to decide if I want to air up before I leave in the morning or not.

 

Registered. Gonna put the snows on permanently tonight for the winter, and drive down. It will save some time swapping them back and forth at the rally.

In the last 24 hours, cannon falls has gotten an inch of rain and almost 7 inches of snow. I also have a buddy that lives on a farm near there and said there is standing water in some of his fields...

as much as I want to rally...its sounding like it is going to be pretty muddy. Any chance of them canceling the event before tomorrow morning? If it is canceled, do they refund your entry?

 

I would really like to know tonight if it's going to be cancelled as my usual 3 hr drive is going to be a 6 hr one. I'm not trying to be a whiner I'm just trying to save money and a possible dangerous drive.

This snow isn't going to stay snow.. it's melting pretty bad, and the ground has no freeze yet. it's going to be a Bog.

 

i doubt it will be canceled but if it is can someone send out a mass text or something so that we dont drive all the way there to find it out..

woo. i'm glad i read the thread before heading out there in the morning, saved myself the drive....
and good thing i forgot to register.

yeah, it's not that bad here, but it's sloppy and the field would be crap. too bad though, i wanted to get my car dirty. what was going for us at the beginning of the season was that the ground was still frozen an inch under the mud

I was ready to drive up from Des Moines to try this out. Sad it got cancelled. I'm definitely interested in the school though. Hopefully, I'll start seriously rallycrossing next season and a school would be a great way to break into the sport.
