I cant stand the fact that floor mats are so expensive....so

I went to Menards: (spent under 27 bucks)

    $8.00ish 6x2 (makes 4 easy) Red Indoor/Outdoor Marine Carpet
Oil-Grease resistant, Mildew resistant, water proof...etc

    $5.00ish 27x2 Runner Rubber Mat
    Ridges, waterproof...etc

    $13.00ish Can of Spray Adhesive

Used my OG mat, and made my template and cut out the rubber base:

    Then transferred to carpet:

    Then spray/glued together

    Then punched hole stays:

    BAM

Look good, and I imagine will hold up excellent and be easy to clean.....plus I got color I wanted.....also would be inexpensive to embroider from some awesome persons

I had a 89 mustang back in the day with a red interior. This reminds me of it. Looks like they should hold up well!

Looks solid! I'm gonna give this a try since my all weathers are cracked. Any plans to do something to the edges? IE some thick boarder material with stitching, similar to your oems.

I could see that being sweet in the summer. Cool idea for sure. Gotta admit tho, I love the catch-all litter box like effect of my weather techs.

It wouldn't be a bad idea to redo old carpet with this method either.

Where did you get the color material from?

I wont go without floor liners if I can avoid it anymore. I hate salt creep into my carpets and floor liners are the only thing that prevents it. I only wish weathertech's had higher ridges to prevent my pants from getting wet.

I tried Subaru's "all weather mats" and they were a joke. Had them through one snow storm last season and bought Husky liners after 2 weeks with them. The snow and crap off your feet melt and run on to the carpet after one time in and out of the car. Been super happy with these Husky liners. The only pain is getting them out to dump the water:facepalm: don't forget to bring a towel.

The weathertechs have prevented salt creep and other dirt / unwanted stains on my carpet. They work well.

Yeah but the don't protect your pants from the pool of dirt water that sits in them...thats why these rock so far...they trap the moisture away under a layer of non mildew science type fibers were it can be evaporated, and never touch your carpet underneath due to the dope backng action, and look sick to boot.

I will admit I have the stock all weathers under em, in case I got super flowie....but just checked the other day...they are stull brand new, like they've never been used.

I must admit I love em, and will do a fresh set for summer, and prolly stitch the edges. Love the red

I like the idea but my main concern is salt stains that inevitably form around the outside. I have the subaru all weather mats and they have nice channels so that my pants never get wet but it would be nice to combine that with the weathertech side molding. I got my fiance weathertechs for her Forester and while they are nice for preventing the salt ring there is no where for the water to sit but in a big puddle really.
