Just did this to mine and thought i'd make a diy thread for others.

    Things you'll need:
    Bi-Xenon: Morimoto Mini D2s
    D2s bulbs
    D2s harness
    DDM Tuning apexcone hid kit
    HID projector shroud
    Heat gun or oven
    saw(for fitting projector shroud)
    3hrs of your time!

-First, take out both your headlight assembly, take out the clips on the headlight and go work with the heatgun.
-Once you've done that remove the clip where it holds the bulbs by unscrewing the screw on the back. and take it all off, you wont need it.
-Now you are set to put in the projector like so. and if you have the clear rs lens, theres a centering dot on it and you can adjust the projector till its centered.
-With the projector back all the way it can, take the first screw knob as well as the H4 liner and screw on like so. You may want to use a plier to really tighten the knob so that the projector stays in place.
-After you have done that, go ahead and put in the D2s bulb and screw it in along with the provided gaskets.
-Now that you've done that, time to move onto the projector shroud. The retrofitsource sells many different kinds and i would recommend getting the gatling gun shroud as you wont have to hacksaw it like i did with mine. The retrofitsource also includes shroud centric rings so that the shroud will fit snugly onto the projector. Once you've done that, reassemble your headlight and move onto the next one.
-you will also need to modify the rubber backing to fit the d2s plug as its alot bigger than stock bulbs.

-after you finish the second one, time to install your HID's! Mine were installed by Gridlock on here so i cant really explain the installing of the hid kit. But to get the D2s harness to work with the hid kit, all you need to do is disconnect the bulbs from the ballast and connect the d2s connector on it and you should be good from there. always test before putting everything back to make sure it's working properly.

install everything and if needed realign the projectors so they don't blind people on the roads.

Nice work! And thanks for the links to that site. I've been looking for a place that has good retrofit projectors for a decent cost. This makes my Datsun headlamp retrofit project alot cheaper than just buying Mercedes G500 lamp assemblies.

That's actually a really good deal. I'd need all that crap anyway since the Datsun used old 7" sealed beam halogens.

Revival of the dead! Muahaha. But on another note, you should black out the reflector part of the headlight i think that would look pretty sweet, I am debating between doing this with the reflectors blacked out and halo around the projector and maybe some LED on the bottom of the housing, or just buying the eBay ones with the 3 LED on the grill side.

Sorry to necro the thread but did you ever go through with the 55w? Were they BMW comparable?

TRS has a new mirimoto kit. It has option for 55w bulb and ballast. I was thinking of dropping that in the car if the output is good enough.
I have hella evo x-r projectors on my jetta at 55w and they're stupid bright. Completely blow away bmw/merc output but I rather use the easy kit if i can get fantastic light from it. :p

Some of the original links do not work. Any chance you could repost them or find them? :)
