Yelp, Google, Angie's list should be able to point you in the right direction. Also check out some local pet shops ( the small Indy type ), they usually have pretty solid opinions. Super cute little bugger. Congrats.
Thanks, hopefully I can find a nice vet when I get my paycheck on Friday. He's so damn cute, cuddled with me all night, wouldn't stop purring.
I used to take my cat to a vet off of hwy 100 and duluth street. VCA All About Pets Animal Hospital is the name of it. They always took good care of my cat, Ticket.
Are the prices for checkups reasonable? I'm not looking to pay $1,000 for a checkup. Something like $1-200 seems reasonable.
i dont recall them being too expensive. you could always call and get an estimate. i havent been there in over 10 years now
He already had his first check up and first round of shots forgot to give you his health card. He needs his second round of shots and thay should be about 80 bucks.
Ahhh, okay, thank you so much. Do you have any idea when he'll need his 2nd shots? (Never done this before)
banfield does a annual package deal starting at like $3-400. you def get your money's worth with a puppy/kitty/foster. http://www.banfield.com/preventive-care/optimum-wellness-plans/kitten-wellness-plans
everyone is different when it comes to pets. Some say take them in yearly others say more often. Myself personally I have had 3 cats. One died of unknown causes after a clean bill of heath from a vet in st paul a week after the vets visit. That cat was the only one I had ever brought to the vet beyond their kitten shots and neutering. My oldest cat is now 8 going on 9 years old has not been to the vet since he was 8 months old. The other cat is going on 2 years old same thing.
Yeah, Lefty hasnt been to the vet in like 7 years. And he's super "healthy." He never goes outside though. Kittens should be checked out for sure.
IIRC we only had to take my cat to the vet maybe once or twice after his kitten shots. only when he got a little sick here and there out of his 18 years alive.
http://www.oakwoodpetclinic.com/ Oakwood pet clinic is in Plymouth and has been great. The Vet (Dr. Williamson) is a great person and has an awesome memory for being able to remember our pets as soon as she sees them.
It's funny, I started with Loki, then I tried Garfield, but my friend suggested Phoenix, and loved it. Went to Petco last night and got him a collar and engraved a little tag for him.
I'm not positive if they kept the name but shady oak veternarian. Is top notch dr. Pavick is a 40+ year friend of the family and most of our vet services are done with him. I can get you his info if you want. They are downtown Hopkins now.
He's still a little skiddish. Doesn't like sudden movements, and absolutely despises any loud noises that aren't cars, or music. I'm still not 100% sure he's potty trained, as I haven't seen him go to the litter box by himself; he hasn't pee'd or poo'd anywhere else except for the litter box (I usually carry him over to it whenever I feel like he would need to go. Otherwise, he's slowly warming up. I leave 2 containers of food and water and he will only eat/drink if I'm around, or if no one is. I'm also trying to convince him I'm his "mom" by cacooning him inside of my sweatshirt while I'm lying down. It really isn't working, because my mom loves him a lot, and she's home more than me, so I hope he knows I'm the "real owner" and not her. I think he's slowly realizing his name is Phoenix; I'll call his name, he won't respond, but he'll perk his ears in a way that would make him think "Who's calling me?" He also knows my bed is his "safe zone" and his "safe spot" is either under the covers, or snuggled between the two sides of my bed's pillows. What else... He has also been a lot more talkative. In such a way that it actually got annoying hearing that little squeak, but I couldn't get mad at him, his tiny meow is ****ing adorable. He also doesn't mind other cats. My other cats don't enjoy him, Phoenix will try talking to them, they'll hiss at him, but he doesn't give a ****.
So I have some great news!! I am certain that Phoenix is 100% potty trained! No more pee'ing on my favorite pillow !
I've just had to keep washing it everytime he pee'd on it. Glad I don't have to wash it every day (I hope).
I'll just upload all of the pictures I've taken in the past month or so. Give me 10 minutes, internet is a little slow right now.
