Does this caliper need to be replaced?

    Might want to replace the rusted pistons and do a caliper rebuild. But the caliper itself is probably fine.

    looks normal for a 98 should be fine

    thx guys.

    We were mostly concerned about the very dry rubber boots there.

    There was a little uneven pad wear, but it wasn't bad and I didn't have any problems pushing the pistons back in.

    So, I think they are working fine, but obviously look pretty crusty.

    We'll keep a rebuild in mind.

    You just don't want the cylinders to rust out. And the rubber boots are part of the rebuild kits.

    Just clean the caliper holders with a file on the parts where the pads sits on and lube them up good.
