depends on how much you wanna spend. there is the circle track place on main in fargo and there is another one over in west fargo, also on main.
Are we supposed to keep them with us in the car and turned on during our runs? (and does this relate to the cool surprise?)
No, it has nothing to do with the suprise. Also abou the FRSs. You can only carry them in your car if they are secured in your pocket turned off. You can't have any loose items in your car while on course.
That's what I assumed, but the no sharing rule seemed to indicate that we had to have them even while running.
I would like you to have them turned on while you are in line in case we need to communicate with everyone. Mark Utecht
Sounds like a good idea. Maybe we can have a worker/corner channel and a driver channel, then allow them to be turned off so you don't have squawking while you're running. The flags obviously work for communicating with the active drivers - wait, I've forgotten - do you guys have flags at the corner stations? Edit: Actually, thinking it through, the normal worker channel would be fine while in grid. Unless we had a driver's channel and lap times were called out over the driver's channel as they were recorded... That would be cool, and possibly convenient for timing and scoring. Have you guys implemented any system for communicating run times throughout the event?
Arg... I dont think that I will be competing in this one. I need to fix that axle, and my clutch is too new, for this type of play. I will come and specatate though. hehe... I get to sleep in if I come to spectate.
I don't think I will be competing as well unless my rotors are fixed by then but I will be their for sure! cant wait!!!! w00t!
I am thinking about competing? what kind of tires would you recommend? I heard new snow tires are not a good choice for this track.
Sigh. It's so nice to be able to talk smack here without anyone getting in a huff. Doesn't apparently work with the Nissan guys.
Come on out, you'll have a blast!! Snow tires are just fine. I have ran this site on all-season(205/55/16) and snow(195/65/15) tires. Snows give you more grip with the softer tread, but you give up response time with the sidewall flex and softer rubber. On most courses the grip wins out, but this one response time is a bigger factor. I still think snows are faster if you can get over the extra body roll. Just my $.02 Brent
That's great Bill the more the merrier. It would be even better if you can convince the Aussie toaster to come as well.
Listening to Brent can't be bad. He's consistantly been one of the top 2-3 fastest guys the last two years. But at Corcoran, with the temps around 90F, most snows are like driving on jell-o, and the surface, depending on exactly what parts of the course are available for us to use, recent rainfall, overzealous course watering (the course gets watered to reduce dust, there are residential neighborhoods not so far away) by a competitor looking for an advantage  can be better or worse for them. I think tires matter less at Corcoran than any other site, as far as traction goes. That said, I'll be running rally tires, mostly because the traction at Corcoran is good enough that I end up really tossing the poor little Sentra into corners hard and my non-rally tires tend to end up off the rims. Not a problem for the AWD cars that'll be driving a very different line than I. I think the Kumho rally tires might be my choice this time, as they have nice sharp edges on the trad blocks, unlike the well-worn 'kooks.
well it is official i will be there on sunday with the white legacy. the 40 cent drop in premium over the last few day up here made me change my mind and decide to go get it from rochester. havent pre registered yet. will do that tonight. do i have to pre pay? or can a pay at the event? just in case the car wont run as it hasnt been used since last fall.
A little suggestion to everyone heading to the event. We ask that when you are driving to and from the event, you drive as if your grandmother was in the passenger seat and a cop car right behind you. It's important that we show the neighbors that we're good citizens and not hooligans. Also, I personally have always found that Plymouth police are about the pickiest in the metro, and especially when it comes to modded imports. Most of us will need to drive through Plymouth to and from the event, so I suggest being on your very best behavior.
Side note, its going to be hot out so bring sun block and a hat for when its your turn to work the cone on the track and bring lots of water!
come on now, Carl. You need to learn to schedule family vacations and activities around rally and RallyCross. We have. Repeat after me (in the words of some relatives) Racing is more important than family. can you feel the sarcasm?
well on the original schedule it was set on a different date! maybe the schedules should just be published correctly the first time around!
the corcoran lions? seriously, I'm pretty bummed I won't be there. and right when I was on the fringe of breaking into the top 5 oa. granted, I probably would have finished last this time
We are bummed you won't be there too. It has been fun to watch you improve through the first events this year; you are obviously doin' something right
Yes my son, you have learned well. Now go forth and spread the gospel of the goey foot. Don't be tempted by the stoppy foot. It will drag down into the hell of loserdom. Here endeth the lesson.
Ok i has question...my car is still dead in garage.... how do i get myself off the SCCA LoL Region RallyCross Schedule? I wanted to go
You just have to convince the wife/family that rally is vacation. After Nemadji, Sara is happy to go to Ojibwe and call it our summer vacation. Just had to show her how much fun it can be. You will be missed out there but it will be nice to move at least one spot in m4 with you gone:biggrin:
I can take you off the entry list, but if you pre-paid, you'll want to contact Mark Utecht (PM mayhem83) and work that side out with him. Or, you could find someone else who's going and willing to share their car . . .
Watch out! that is how I got started...went with Brent 2 years ago to Ojibwe (a weekend without the kids was my incentive), fell in love with rally, worked Nemadji, Shooting Star, Ojibwe and LSPR last year (Brent raced in all but Nemadji); then 100 AW this year. Mary talked to me at Rallye de Paris (I actually didn't work ) about her wanting to organize Nemadji for this year; so given my overactive volunteerism gene, I offered that if I could help her, just let me know...it progressed from there. I love it and wouldn't want to not be involved in Rally. I just can't wait for our kids to be old enough to really enjoy rally. Right now, RallyCross is good for them Though, if they come on Sunday, it will be with Grandpa  Carrie
