no special tools needed and not much to lining them up. if i was in the cities id help for sure but kinda sucks im back up north now
yeah i was looking at that link and saw the tool they have on the second page and didnt have to use that the last time we did a wrx timing belt, thats what im confused about, and why i was wondering about if i need that. but we didnt use it last time. plan is to replace pretty much everything.
still looking for someone, just need them to line it up real quick in little canada / rice st and make sure its correctly tensioned. with it being interference i just dont trust myself and want someone to make sure its all lined up correctly. and would throw them like $40 or something, going to do it on a weekday at my work just after 6pm.
I'll do it for ya, when are you thinking? next week? tomorrow I'll be @ firestone, but am free after work all next week.
I would suggest being prepared for removing the crank pulley and torquing it. I did the timing belt last night on my wife's 9-2X aero and its an automatic and so I couldn't just put it in gear to remove the pulley like I am used to doing. I didn't think about that! I ended up cobbling together something using an old accessory belt which worked but I wasted an hour monkeying around. The job is cake though. Good luck!
yeah any weekday next week, ill pm you my number just call or text me and let me know what day works for you and how much it would cost, by the time you get there well have the belt off, new tensioner on and new water pump and stuff on. just need it lined up and tensioned.
