Ok, so I did the DRL disconnect (07 WRX wagon) in the engine bay (on RH side, near DP) per Gingerballz' guidance (and that of others) and it worked flawlessly for several weeks.

Today, I pull up behind a car a stop light and notice that my lights are on in the reflection off the other car's trunk. What is odd is that my light switch is in the off position. I ask, WTF?!?!?! Do I have gnomes? Have my DRLs "learned" a work around to my "mod"?

    WTF^10?!

    Do the behind-the-glovebox version.

Yeah, I fingered that is the next step. I just don't understand why what had previously been working all of a sudden does not. I check the connectors...still disconnected and taped off.

I thought I had. Apparently I failed. WTF did I do, or not do, when I unclipped the harness in the engine bay? Why would it work and then stop working?

Gnomes. I think you're right. Or Gremlins. They often work together.

I did the behind-the-glovebox unplug three years ago and they never came back on. I left the one in the engine bay intact.

Thanks everyone, I've posted this on NASIOC as well.

I'm clueless (more so than usual) as to why/how the DRLs could be operating again. A blown fuse or short somewhere else?
