Ya thats pretty sweet if you skype a lot. The battery life on the incredible is...meh....and im using a 1500mah battery vs the 1300mah that it came with. I think the Evo comes with a 1500, its definetly going to need it.

I am not sold on the "upgrade" on the MP on the cameras. My DROID is 5MP but my voyager touch screen had a 3.5MP and it took way better pictures. The pics were better quality, more clear, and less junk pics.... plus way more options... i miss the panoramic option. So i guess it has to do with what type of camera hardware is used on the phone.

Do these smart phones...Incredible, nexus, iphone, droid and etc have car chargers?

the HTC HD2 doesn't have one.

Granted I work in IT, but a handful of the older folks at work have rooted iPhones and other unlocked/ported/rooted phones. If he wants Android on his HD2, he could grab the HTC Evo 4G from Sprint when it comes out... it is more/less the HD2 + additional features running android.

    http://now.sprint.com/evo/

I in no way condone or recommend someone get Sprint for service... :) I am not a fan. YMMV

^^^^ LOL jailbreaking an iphone is super easy now though, gizmodo has like a 2 step guide to do it. and yes, i'm not a fan of sprint either, but if they are the first ones with 4g out and are in my city with a ballen new phone then yes, i guess i'll concede.

If they could only change the home screens for the HTC phone appearances...wonder why they leave that out.

sprint +4g = joke. It is not even in the cities and will be a "future upgrade". From there, the evo, incredible, nexus 1, they all use the same qualcomm chip (except the evo/incredible use the cmda version). The only thing that is really different between them is the camera (if you are bragging about pixels) and the wifi (nexus one has N and a FM receiver), otherwise they are all about the same. Then you are down to carriers. And now you have something to argue about.

The Incredible has N and FM tuner as well. HTC also uses difference touch sensors, the N1 was having some issues. The Incredible also has HTC Sence, which IMO, is the icing on the cake for Android. It complete's Andoid.

Arguing about carriers - I'm on the SERO plan. I'm sticking with Sprint. $35 per month for 500 anytime minutes, and unlimited nights and weekends, and unlimited text and data, also unlimited mobile-to-mobile.

Yeah, I'm sticking with Sprint. :)

And the version that got leaked was only a pre-production release. Not all the cool stuff is in it. Hopefully they start rolling out the final production release next week. I heard it was going though the final QA this week.

It wont. HTC has to make it work with Sence first. HTC isnt known for getting updates out quickly. Only phones that run Android only (ie: Nexus One and Moto Droid) will see Froyo soon.

The FRF50 rom that was release is basically a RC rom. It is the same thing that was released to the Techcrunch guy that spread all over the internet. It is a tmo update that they pushed out to a few people and had on the servers for about a week. I think they were doing it just to do some bug checks and such. It doesn't work on the at&t version unless you root the phone. The android dev team twitted that it was a pre-release to get out to the masses for testing and the the final was going though QA for release.

Has anyone tried to install vanilla android on the HTC phones? (non nexus one) Waiting on a manufacturer to update their build so that I can use the new features doesn't sound like something I really want to do. Especially given how fast Google is rolling out new functionality.

What kind of apps are you looking for, Dan?

Communication, social networking, work productivity... or are you just asking before you start downloading random stuff anyway ;)

I use Pandora, shopsavvy, flashlight, advanced task killer, and tapatalk constantly.

why do you say that? Seems like some of them never close and drain the battery. Most of those got deleted tho I suppose.

The task killer program draws more power to run then some of the apps you are trying to kill.
