Doesn't the boost and HP look goofy? Any ideas on why she's jumpin' around? Ron's gonna' look at the logs, but until then, I was just wondering if anyone has an opinion.

    Sure it looks wierd, it's a 4eat dyno :)...

    Just playin with ya'.

Regardless, looks like the car could use more boost between 4500 and redline. I would tune boost "flatter" with less of a taper. Aside from massaging the boost curve, looks about right.

Depending on the size of the 20g, the car may be creeping slightly, which is why boost is going up at redline. As I mentioned above, unless you are running out of fuel (shouldn't be), I'd just run more boost :).

I think that's where the problem was... He couldn't get it to flatten out. I'm wondering if there could be a boost leak, or wg issues, boost control issues. I think ron was trying to keep the boost up and taper near the end, but notice how it creeps up instead... ?

Yup, see my above post regarding boost creep. Guess it's possible that the WG or your BPV/BOV is leaking in that area, I'd have to see the logs. If WGDC is maxed in the midrange, you may have some leakage issues.

What PSI is your WG actuator spring?

    Hmmm... I think it's a .9 or 1.0 bar.

Looks to me like boost creep towards redline with boost control issues in the middle of the range. Try playing with the turbo dynamics tables to smooth the boost out.

I had a similar problem a while back when I was playing around with those tables trying to get less lag.

on the spring pressure it did 10lbs. I was expecting more HP out of it but it just wasn't happening. I told him to see what the but dyno will say. Sometimes these auto will do crazy readings on the dyno. The wastegate also sounded different. Almost like it was sputtering through out the revs. Maybe a leak on the exhaust I dont know. Give me time I will figure it out.

Maybe when Matt gets back I'll have him take a look at it. The wastegate flutter under boost was a little odd. The first two runs sounded nice and smooth... then it started to sound weird (fluttering/oscillating). It's quite possible there's a boost/exhaust leak somewhere.

Well, you have to remember that with the converter, it is slipping all the time. Depending on how many pulls into the run this was, your tranny temp was probably through the roof. I would look at the log from that pull to see if the motor is doing the same thing the dyno is displaying.with as much as the HP graph is floating up and down, you should be able to see that change in the logs. If the logs look good, then it is probably the converter slipping enough to get those ripples. As for the boost, it is definitely creeping at the end or not able to hold through the middle.

Yeah, I think something is goofy somewhere, based on the fluctuations, sound (I do have a sound file), and graph. Maybe Ron will find something in the logs. Thanks :)

What about compressor surge? As I said, under WOT the EWG seems to flutter... Could that mean that I need a different spring on the EWG? Adjust the BPV? Maybe one of them is venting too early...?

    Thanks,
