I like seein im not the only 4eat getting tuned roound here. We gotta represent and show that automatics can be just as much fun
Shifting....pfft! I like the fact we can launch already in boost, and that we stay in boost when shifting also, I don't really hear too much whining about the strength of the 4eat. Especially after switching to synth, modding the valvebody and TC So, more power to us! 4EAT's unite!
Thanks, sent him an email. I want to know if he would like me to do anything else to my current setup before tuning. My car is a 2004 STi with a Helix catted DP and Maddad catback, Cobb light crank pulley, Walbro fuel pump, running off the shelf Cobb stage 2 (91 octane) AP map. I would like to maximize this setup for this year, then next winter go for turbo, intercooler, and fuel upgrades. I asked Jorge if anything relatively inexpensive should be done prior to tuning the stock turbo. I was thinking of putting in the APS CAI, but some tuners seem to think that it is a waste, others seem to like it. Anyone here have an opinion or other suggestions?
Yes, he replied almost right away. Said that he would recommend the CAI. APS 65mm CAI should be on the way to me now. I emailed him back to ask a few other questions, have not heard back yet.
Is everyone thats on the list still going? I just need to know if i can get my car tuned those days, thanks...
I am still in but I am not gonna lie. I could be one of the last minute drops but dont plan on it. I am current in school at DePaul in chicago and I might be bring my car down there. If I do, I will just have rifts tune it down there. I wont know for quite sometime though so dont plan on me droppin out or think my spot is a possibility quite yet.
I still intend on showing up on May 7. I'll let everybody know at least a couple weeks in advance if plans change
I'm still in. Got all my goodies, ready to go in once the VB and Turbo get here!!! then it's  time!!!!
I'm still in...I have all my goodies except for my Perrin FMIC which was ordered this morning :rockwoot:
Sweet, i just need deadbolt to get a Super 16G in and I'm good. My other parts are already starting to show up
i'm going to bring: -ear protection -a chair -something to eat/drink -a camera -a 4x8 sheet of cardboard for when i bust into a mad fresh breakdance routine after putting down elenentybilllion awdhp
nope, going catless adding an accessport and swapped out the alchy kit to an smc. i know i swore last time i would fmic it but i think i'll wait untill i get into a larger turbo.
So I am starting to think about gettin all my stuff together for this and I was wondering how do you guys get multiple maps for different octanes? How do you swap the gas so quick to get an efficient map with 100 octane or more after tuning for 91 or 92 octane? I was beginning to think about this because I have to start planning for the dyno day since i dont have access to my car and the ability to go grab any of the little things I need. So is this pretty easy to do or do I have to bring multiple things of different gas and drain my tank after each dyno session is complete with that octane? Thanks for the help, its my first tune and I am getting very excited
This is what I do. Show up to the dyno day with your gas light on running pump gas. To be safe, have a 5 gallon jug with some pump gas and a 5-10 gallon jug with your race gas.
Thanks for clearing that up last night. Containers meant for carrying gas can be found at any hardware store right? I am gonna have to do this friday night when I get back and wanna make sure all the stuff I have to get is easily accessible. 18 days and counting
I feel your pain there...I have to go buy gas cans as well. Maybe its something I should have in the garage...but I don't
What kind of race gas do you suggest? And anyone know somewhere around roseville to get some good race gas? Thanks, - Justin K.
There was a place a few miles from R-S motors that me and Matt (bikerboy)went to during the tune to get race fuel, ask him I cant remember what the place was called.
Thats good to hear. Is the order on the front page the same order we will do on the dyno day or are we gonna be movin all 5 cars around that day? I gotta get my oil changed that day so I dunno if I can be there right at the start.
/me PRAYS you don't have a creep issue..... I had one of my guys on NASIOC PM you about his DB20G... Jorge (RiftsWRX) www.ProjectWRX.com
