Thanks Josh. I'm pretty jelous of your new wheels. I'll let you know if I've got extra parts for your inevitable EG swap ,
I got these from Amazon, they are 550cc. Saw them on sale for $140 ($589 normally). Might be able to sell old SVX stuff, there are a few FB groups that are a concentration of SVX and EG33 enthusiasts.
Been welding up my charge pipes. Making them from 16ga mild steel because I had a bunch of it, and can only do MIG currently. Video on this probably this weekend or early next week. -Eazy
Looking bad ass! Enjoying the videos too man, keep them coming. If I wasn't so awkward and boring, I might try vlogging lol. Excited to see this thing make some turbo noises
Thanks Joe, takes way too much time to vlog it all. If I did it the way I wanted, each video would be 30mins, the editing would be flawless, I'd never sleep, and I'd work on the car half as much Gotta have some kind of compromise.
I suggest you also epoxy the freeze plug in the gutted IRIS valve as a CYA (cover your butt). love the build. keep it up.
Great point Todd. I had not thought of epoxy. I may have access to TIG again soon so we'll see what happens.
Also BTW, Deatschwerks injectors are notorious for coming with crappy injector latency data. Maybe they'll match up better with your aftermarket ECU (MS3?), but the latency values they supply do not work well with stock Subaru ECUs. You may want to consider sending them somewhere to get a better injector characterization before pulling your hair out trying to tune the ECU with bad injector data...
Eric, I have not done so yet, but I have considered it. I also have a home-made bead roller and some heat that I may use. I've priced out sending them in, it just has not yet been a priority. After helping with my friends Turbo Megasquirt Miata running DW injectors I am not too concerned with the data that was sent, just if whoever returned them did anything sketchy, such as switch one injector out and return them to Amazon. That being said, for how cheap I got the injectors I will probably send them in.
Unfortunately: "Please note that Fuel Injector Clinic services top-feed port fuel injectors only" You'll find the same thing with Injector Dynamics, I'm guessing... Also you really need a full characterization including latency table, not just the flow rate like that FIC datasheet shows... There aren't many aftermarket injector companies set up for testing sidefeeds these days, for a number of reasons.
Thanks for the info Eric. Gotta read that fine print. It's actually cheaper to get DW to do it, but it seems like I should just use the data they've already given me in this case.
Thanks, next I'm working on making an alternator bracket so I can put the intake on for the long term. TV is good, helps make sure the beer fridge is not too full. Can't put anything too interesting on though or I get distracted. Baseball is just slow enough that I don't need to watch it non-stop. I also put on Roadkill and MCM, but that brings Turbo H6 progress way down.
