Recently pulled the motor out of my 03 Impreza TS because it needed a clutch and had a bad oil leak... The car never over heated and the oil leak was determed to be valve cover gaskets... Pulled heads and removed carbon buildups on pistons and heads... Cylinder walls looked in remarkable comdition... Used a Fellpro MLS upper gasket kit omitting the cam seals... Heads were checked by two machinist with no mill work needed... Replaced with gates T-belt kit and new subaru OEM water pump... Oil pump was taken off and screws were checked for tightness... Everything was done by the guideance of a FSM and torqued with a digital snap-on wrench... Motor was reinstalled in the car and now has 1500 miles on the refreash... The car needs over $1500 in trans and exhaust work so I'm cutting my losses and parting it out... Car is running and driving so come listen and/or drive before you purchase...
