    alright...

I have got ported heads from an 04' wrx, some 2.5l sti pistons, and posibly some forged wrx specific rods.

does it make sense for me to get an ej20g block?

I cannot use any of these parts on this block? RIGHT?

would it make more sense to get a set of ej205 block halves?

this phase 1 vs. phase 2 stuff is owning me now.

I supose it would only make sense to use ej205 heads with an ej205 block, but....

this ej20g has a fully closed deck, and .... sounds realy tempting.

EJ25 pistons aren't going to work in the EJ20 series blocks.
The heads would probably bolt right on, though.

Only early EJ20G blocks had a closed deck. They look like a EJ22T block with the crosshatching on the outside in select areas. I couldn't tell you the exact years offhand.

All EJ rods are forged. The designs differ slightly, like whether a stud and nut or bolt.

ohh, it is an early ej20g, it is pretty. and closed deck.

so aftermarket rods designed for the ej205 will work in a ej20g? will they bolt to a phase 1 crank?

My Eagle rods were labeled EJ18, 20, 22.
