I have a 2003 Legacy L SE wagon that I was going to change plugs and wires on today. When I pulled the first wire out (passenger side front) I noticed some oil on the boot and a small pool in the hole. When I started to pull the next wire out (passenger side rear) oil started dripping out :???: the same thing happened on the drivers side. I have never seen this before, even when I changed the plugs on my gf's '96 Legacy 2.2 that leaked/burned more oil than gas. Any ideas on what could cause this (please, please, please don't say cracked headshnoes sorry the about the cel phone pics.
the valve covers gaskets will leak into the spark plug area? huh, who woulda thunk it. Thats good news, waaayy easier and cheeper than new heads. :biggthumpup:thanks!
part numbers 10966aa000, in stock here @ morries tonka, Might as well do the valve cover gaskets and bolt seals while you are @ it. very common!
Spark plug tube seals, one of the crappiest seals on a Subaru. If your wires are soaked badly in oil, I recommend you replace them at the same time, or you will end up with a misfire down the road.
You can pick up your wires at AutoZone and it's the SAME wires! lolz not sure about the older ones, but my '99 where the same. Had the Subaru Bommerang thingy....
