Just finished pulling the engine out of a 2006 Impreza 2.5i with around 225k miles on it. Definitely bad head gasket and possible head warping from overheating. Looking for options on either a reman long block, somewhere to have it rebuilt or possibly a low mileage used motor. Just need a stock rebuild, nothing fancy, this is just a daily driver, owned since new. Thoughts?

JM Auto is the shiz when it comes to anything Subaru related. Pretty sure they could handle it for ya (rebuild or replacement).

Otherwise, check around the local yards or interwebs for a donor motor out of a wrecked car? Car-part.com is a pretty sweet source.
