Ah...so! Tonight after work I decide to try to gut my up pipe at midnight(first time). Everything starts out oh so smooth. And then I get the up pipe around 1:30 and comence the gutting.

After I get all the guts out I look inside of the up pipe and what do ya know! I put a hole in my up pipe!

Lemme just say, that a wrx with no exhaust what so ever is freaking loud!!!

Now I need to get an up pipe fast. Pics of the fun up in about 8 hours when I wake up.

And I think I have some sort of cancer now from all the cat particles.

everyone has cancer, (thats my theory, also I think everything causes cancer).

Don't drive it to long with a pre turbo exhaust leak...

An uppipe is worth the work, it's one of the first things to do before you start going into the rest of the exhaust. Danny, glad that worked out for you!

Nope, it can be done without removing the downpipe. Most of the times I've seen it done it's been without removing the downpipe.

I can vouch for that. Didn't have to take the dp out.

A good wrench will break before it bends. If it breaks, weld it at the angle you need. I've done it with flare-nut wrenches, and many others.

This is why I bend the crappy wrenches to make 'specialty tools.' I still have that GBOD Remover in my toolbox.

Green brackets of death. They are the brackets that are a top the top feed injectors in the event of an accident they hold the injectors from popping out and starting the car on fire like one of our less fortunate board members.

Dunno If its because of my exhaust setup but I was able to just tuck the dp back behind the nuts and it was gravy from there.

I'd be willing to bet that it wasn't the GBOD that started that car on fire, but displacing the turbo and rupturing the oil lines. There have been a few cars on Nasioc that have started on fire from Passenger side hits.
