Man, i knew that i should have grabbed more than one pig! And maybe i should have chosen a different barnyard friend as to not insinuate and or insult. I clearly didn’t think this through. On the plus side, although i saw a ton of them with people pulled over from the Dells to home, I didn’t get to visit with any of them! And...i...am...home!!! Wooooopah!! Blu V2 is going to sleep outside tonight to acclimate to her new home in Minnesnowtah! Rick, thanks for the prayers! Specifically for dry/clear roads! I don’t think that i would have made it the 14 hours today without mah cruise controls!!!! Epic road trip completed!
They didn't stop you because BRZ...underpowered, can't be speeding. Glad you made it home safely. Too bad you didn't have the time to stop a place or two.
Oh yeah, to wrap up my review of the BRZ! After driving over 17 hrs in a car that i had never seen or driven, despite the few flaws, I absolutely made the right decision. I thoroughly enjoyed the car and am excited to have it!! Looking forward to the cruise this year!(oh yeah, i better get the 2018 cruise thread up and running, i’ve been preoccupied )
Thanks! Yeah, unfortunately I didn’t see much of Pennsylvania at all because it was dark and raining the whole time. I definitely would have liked to have been able to stop at some sights. You don’t get to enjoy much while rushing home. But, i got to experience the car, which WAS the focal point of my journey!
Your new avatar is going to take some getting used to.... has me out of sorts, Hey @Krazylegz1485 lets pool funds and head to Seattle
Glad to hear you made it home safely and are enjoying the car! Despite the little quibbles (I share the same ones), I could care less. I actually enjoy the little annoying things about this car...because who cares? You don't need cup holders on a track. The car to me is an appliance for pure driving enjoyment. I love the simplicity - it has everything that I want (e.g. excellent handling) and nothing that I don't (e.g. heated seats). And seriously, garage the thing in the winter! Although I drove one on a frozen lake just recently, and had a blast, I much prefer working on a rust free car. PS - something I didn't discover until after I owned the car for 2+ years and someone clued me in....there is another 12v outlet in the glove box. You're welcome
Unlike you Jordan, this is now my daily driver. So i’ll have to get used to living with these things. But i’ll get used to them! @Sid08 , No 2J turbo swaps for me bruh!
What saddens me the most, is you're probably going to toss snow tires on some 15" team-dynamics wheels, and then go beat this thing to death in a muddy corn field somewhere.
Nice ride there! Didn't get to enjoy PA on my way back from NY because a good portion of it was on fire (massive brush fires). If your right cheek is numb I'm betting that's where you keep your wallet. Chiro said don't drive with a wallet in your back pocket because it presses on your sciatic nerve in the back of your leg and butt.
I don’t carry my wallet in my back pocket. And @readymix , i will do no such thing. This car is my “next 10 years” car.
Wow! Cool trip! The new car looks very sharp. Always wanted to test drive a BRZ but never made the time to do so. Figure I don't need to look into an impractical car for my current life situation. Looks like it would be a fun summer car.
It was indeed! My wife said the same thing about the impracticality of it with our two little girls. But it’s essentially my daily for work and the family uses the van everywhere that we go. I do plan on throwing the carseat in the back to take my 3 year old for a ride though!
Can you actually fit a car seat in the back of a BRZ? Haha! I know the feeling. I have two boys ages 4 and 2. I like small cars and always loved the Mini Cooper. When it came time to put my 18 year old Rav4 to rest, I had briefly considered the Mini, but shelved the idea since our work schedules are such that I have to drop off and pick up kids from daycare. I once had to contort myself to get our older son into my friend's Scion TC. While it was easy for him to climb in back, I literally could feel my spine go all pretzel trying to reach in back to buckle him into his car seat. Fortunately, he was old enough to be front-facing. I doubt he could have fit in there rear-facing. I was happy to find the car seats fit rear-facing in the WRX since my younger son was in that position when I bought mine. Thought I was doomed to "death by crossover".
When our oldest two kids were young, we had an XT6..until they couldn't fit in the back seat and/or I couldn't handle being a contortionist getting them in and out and we had to sell it. Eventually, we found that two practical cars and the midlife crisis car were the winning combination. Start shopping for that four door turbo car!
I'd imagine the bigger issue is when they no longer fit in car seats... Unless they're above the knee double amputees and/or can manage to sit criss cross applesauce back there. One of the first mods on my 2+2 coupe was removing the rear seats along with other practically useless things.
Yeah, she’ll fit no problem on the passenger side with the forward facing and the seat slid up. Rear facing, not a chance! But my wife is a stay at home mom and i never have to “pick up the kids from daycare”. So, I literally drive to and from work. When they get bigger, it will be an issue. But again, i’ve only had my eldest daughter in my WRX about 10 times in 3 years...so i’m not too concerned about it.
I can't stand how small the interior of our WRX becomes when you put a rear facing seat in the back. It can only go behind the wife and even then she's got the seat slid up quite a ways and is definitely not comfortable. So much for a family "wagon". Haha. I think our next Subaru will be an Outback with hopefully a little more room.
I've got money on "bumper and hood color doesn't match the rest of the car's paint color" within the next 7 years.
Shouldn't this road trip thread turn into a build thread sometime soon? Even if the "build" just means you washed it and put some stickers on it.
