Also, the drive home today from work without winter tires was moar epic than driving it home from New Jersey.
Drove the WRX. Twas too dangerous in the BRZ with all seasons. I don’t want to crash it the first week that i own it(and I almost did too many times yesterday).
When is the supercharger going in? The car looks fan-freaking-tastic. I like the Blue series, but like mine better.
Not an option, or i would. In order to boost the budget for the BRZ that I wanted, the bugeye and the RSVX had to go.
Well if its in the budget my co-worker's 05 LGT threw a rod. Rest of the car is in good shape and doubt he will be asking more then 4k for it as is. Phone up JM for a new motor or buy a used one and your off and running.
Congrats on the new purchase! I know you'll love the car. One thing I recommend right away are these wide angle mirrors to solve your blind spot problem. Totally worth it. http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/rexpeed-wide-mirrors-heated-1354.html#.Wo2HJ4PwZpg I know less than Jason but happy to help if you have any questions.
It definitely can’t and won’t go anywhere today. Taking the kid hauler to MSP so that we can fly out to New Orleans to the 75 degree, no snow, weather!
4 month update! So life with the BRZ went well this winter with the Generals on her. Flash forward to today... Pros and cons on BRZ ownership. Pros: 1)The electric steering is fantastic! If you drive it “heavy fisted”, it can be twitchy and annoying. But if your grip is light and mellow, the steering input is accurate and really quick. Point and shoot! Two thumbs up!! 2)Not that it’s a mystery, but the balance of it is confidence inspiring! Similarly to the Subaru AWD system, a “next level” of confidence. It’s so flat and predictable at any speed. It begs to be pushed! 3)The seats. They are like a glove for my backside. Lol. The best, most supportive Subaru seat that I personally have experienced. Perfect amount of bolster, lumbar, and head rest position is perfect! Truly love these seats. 4)Found the hidden “shift light/gear indicator” and have really liked it so far. The shift light arrow comes on at a very low, fuel saver rpm. But it’s cool nonetheless. 5)Can’t stop looking at it. It is personally one of my absolute favorite designs that Subaru has ever done. It falls just behind the 22b in the looks department for me. 6)Fuel efficiency is excellent! Nice to almost double my mileage from the WRX to this. Cons: 1)Stereo. As usual, Subaru has dropped the ball with stereo quality. Despite all of the speakers, and what appears to be a nice head unit, it falls flat on its face. And i keep getting wierd navigation menu pop ups despite not using the Navi. “Faster route detected” and such. Whatevs. Soon she’ll get a stereo upgrade to match her looks! 2)It’s low. Not so low that it scrapes going in and out of driveways, but you notice every time that you get in or out(insert old man jokes here). 3)Tail lights. Why the hell they still make a headlight or tail light that is so chrome covered is beyond me. And in order to black out the internals on these, one must dremel the lens off or use a soldering iron to cut through the plastic to separate them. The only part of the car that i find mildly unattractive. 4)The seats. This car is barely 3 years old and the diver seat fabric is in terrible condition for its age. Would have definitely appreciated some better, heavier duty fabrics on them. Overall i still have no regrets moving into the two door, low horsepower go kart. I enjoy driving it every day and miss driving it when it’s parked! Anyone else have any “love/hates” about their FRS/BRZ? Please share!
LOL at upshift light...we had those in the '80s as a way to appease the EPA. More LOL at too much chrome in the taillights...you guys would have never made it through the '70s with the square yards of chrome on the bumpers. If the interior cloth is specific to one or two model years, you might want to invest in the driver's seat covering now (for future replacement) while it is still available from the parts department. Cloth is a lot harder to match than black leather ten years from now.
The shift light is no new concept. Just one that i didn’t know existed until i was able to go in and turn it on. Chrome looks great on older cars with sheet metal mang! Just not these new plastic econo boxes. They need to finish the plast-icky look and just do away with the chrome altogether! Lol The interior is “leather” and Alcantara like the STI’s. I’ll take a pic and post it so you can see how ****ty it is in a few...
You gotta have some bits and pieces that are different colors or finishes or the car just looks like a one-piece, molded plastic $0.89 toy car from the dump bin in Walgreens. Misunderstood your use of the word "fabric". Cloth comes to mind first like what Subaru put in my Legacy GT. Maybe you need to quit using the trucker wallet with the chain. And talking about things discovered, I just found out after almost six years that the brake lights on our 2013 Ford do not work when the ignition is off...WTF? I haven't found an upshift light yet...might have to look.
Not happy about it, trust me. Unfortunately the state of MN DMV screwed up by renewing their system and spending billions doing it. They said that I should be able to get them sometime between September of this year and/or 2019.
@Navar Hren has been waiting 6months to get his title back showing his new lien holder on the car he has been trying to sell...alot of people have been getting super dicked by this DMV bull****.
Yepppppp. I mean I know nothing about computer programing or data bases and I feel like I could of done alot with 2 billion...
You mean YOU paid $2b dollars to screw it up. Another of many reasons I'm glad I moved across the river a decade ago.
