Hey Everyone! So I'm really new to the Subaru Forum here so I apologize if I've screwed up some things here. Last March I purchased a used 2009 Impreza 2.5L. It's a fantastic car and I love it to death but I do want some more power. I have been doing some research and have decided to upgrade the exhaust. I've read some threads that state I should also do the down/up pipe at the same time. I haven't been able to find any parts online anywhere for down/up pipes for the base model Impreza. They all appear to be for the WRX/STI. I feel like they are interchangeable since the engines are so similar but I wanted to make sure. The exhaust system I'm looking at is the Borla Cat-Back exhaust. Any help anyone could give on: places to search for down/up pipes, reviews/critiques of cat-back exhaust systems, or any other pertinent information. Below is my basic car info. wut tash sed. Honestly, from what I understand, you're not going to be able to extract a lot more power from the NA platform. Exhaust will give it the boxer rumble, but I doubt you'll see much if any gain in actual performance.
Actually a lot of the NA Impreza's come with equal length headers...so unless you swap to unequal length headers...you won't be getting teh rumbles
It wont ever be more than what it is stock, leave it stock. N/a subarus are just a hole in the ground to throw money with ZERO return. Drive it for what it is, if you want performance, go with suspension mods.
