so i'm going to be buying some headers, and i was wondering how often people break exhaust manifold studs due to the notorious MN rust. would it be a smart idea to buy myself a new set of exhaust mani studs? or is it something not to worry about much? any tips for getting the stock mani off without busting studs? thanks!
The ones on the head's will not break. If anything they will get seized on said rust then the will back out of the head. I would spray them down then back them out a bit till you see rust piling up then turn them back in clean off the rust spray then down and repeat till done. You might get all the nuts off if you take your time. What I would buy before hand would be the spring bolts for the cat back they always break.
yeah i should get new catback bolts, i busted one of them already putting my new catback on and just replaced it with a random bolt i found around the garage that sinched it up good. and thats a good idea for the head studs, thanks for the info!
