tonight, those “Subaru saved my life” commercials became far too real.

According to the first responders, and other support personnel responding to the accident of a dear friend and colleague's teenage son, a 2003 *edit* Subaru Outback saved two teenage boys this evening. Many extra thoughts and words of thanks are being said tonight!

The reason I got into Subarus in the first place was an "accident" that could have been fatal if it wasn't for the quick thinking of my friend and the responsiveness of the car. Great post, man.

This is a wonderful story! You always see the commercials, but never hear first hand from people. Thanks you for sharing this, and I am glad everyone in the car was ok!

Glad everyone is ok. Have them contact SOA, they'll love hearing it and may reach out to them about it.

Thanks for the kind words, everyone! Both boys were able to go home [very late] that night from the hospital, which is just amazing. Max was even sideline for the homecoming football game that following evening. Spent much of the weekend thinking about the accident, and so grateful for how it turned out.

If anyone has any leads on a replacement Subaru for Max, please let me know. Budget is about $3000, but could bump up to $4000 for the right one. Prefers a hatch, in decent shape, minimal rust, and most of all reliable (and clean title). Any leads would be helpful! Thanks!

Tell him to bump it up to $5k or $6k and get a flight to CO for that red wagon.:)
