    Fantastic post, James!

    Volunteer work in exchange for a place to hang out is not only a brilliant idea but aligns well with what the moderator group would like to see our forum more involved in (community involvement and social gatherings).

    We'll be in touch shortly regarding city ordinances. We need to get these kinds of conversations started with future landowners.

    Speaking of which, I left an email with Harmar Mall but haven't heard back yet. Harmar is technically in a 1st ring suburb, but it's probably less than a mile off the st paul city line. I'm not sure where to start with Como. There is a Goodwill off Snelling and County B as well.

    As much as I have been harassed by St Paul cops in the midway area, I think they are going to be much more friendly than Roseville. I like Roseville, but unless something is arranged with the police, they would probably shut that down pretty quick.

    I'd like to make a joke about suggesting uptown, but I don't think it would be funny anymore and I hate uptown as much as readymix. uptown is pretty cool though, if you don't have a car.

    well i dont think MOA would like us going there, seems like we would get harassed. and if we go down to Shepard road their just gonna think we're street racing. I like uptown...but parking would be a bitch!! well looking at the map we could maybe do either rainbow foods or Arby's in up town... there is Robert st. in west St. Paul, like at menards (which is next to a self-serve car wash) or signal hills shopping mall...tons of places to go eat and it's a pretty busy street.

    i like the snelling/larpentur ideer around chianti grill. i drive round there for work and it seems like it would work if someone COULD get permission from a lot owner

    There a very LARGE open parking lot by my house, lets meet up at the Albertville Mall!!! Tool Time is out there, maybe they'll let us hang out there.

    If the weather looks good.... I'll be here at this location that evening on May 6th around 7ish as long as there is space. If plans change and I won't make it... I'll let you guys know. This is just to get a "feel" if anyone wants to join. I know sometimes there are people who come use the diamond for baseball... but they usually don't stay that late here.

    I should beat you all!!!

    There was some entertainment. We saw 3 cars come and take firewood. The VW fully loaded the trunk of his Jetta and went off into the night.
    As long as weather looks good, I'll be going out there again this next Friday. There's a NICE BIG FIELD out there.... play football? There's also a diamond ring.. play kick ball, softball? Vball?? Play tag?? Plenty of lights and parking spaces.

    The brave souls!!!! Taken before we left. Stayed til 10:40pm

    I think that was a great spot! After discussing it at the mod meeting Saturday, chances are very good we'll make that the new Friday location with an "official" kick off in the next couple weeks. ;)
