Firestone Temporary Venue Change Discussion

02SubbieRS had a pretty successful gathering a couple weeks ago...

 

I still don't understand why we don't open firestone back up. Can't get more central than that.

Harmar is a bunch of ricers and hicks Friday nights now.

 

Is it still a warzone? That was the reason we closed it in the first place.

I'm not opposed to it so long as I'm not sitting in the middle of a construction zone. The draw of Firestone was the traffic. How is it looking now days?

 

The main construction is closer to the capital now. The tracks and curbs are in. Not sure when crosswalks and stations are scheduled to be built but that's all that's really left for the few blocks around firestone. I'm sure there are plans up somewhere.

 

Has anyone been through there on Friday night yet to see if there's anything worth watching? I know there are a couple other spots along University that can get pretty busy, but it's an entirely different vibe. One that tends to involve cops clearing everyone out several times per night.

 

No but I can. The station by firestone is pretty much built already. The have cones out and its down to 1 lane during the day and back to 2 lanes at night. The snelling and uni intersection is pretty much done. They had cones out on the sidewalks today but all lanes were open.

I imagine cruising down uni will be different with porkys gone, but we could certainly help revive it.

 

Hmmm... now there's a thought.

 

We have permission from the owners of the lot to park there. Its private property.

 

Screw it, I say lets do it. We can always meet there and head out for some food or something if it turns out to be a weird vibe.

Idget, do you have contact info for those guys? Maybe double check to ensure everything is still kosher. Bonus points if they're cool with us grilling for the first couple nights too, try and get some folks out there.

 

I wouldn't plan on more than a handful of people showing up. I know better. Doesn't mean we shouldn't do it.

 

If the ogeez are down, then so am i. I'll be there around 6:30 or 7pm ass usual. Jason, you should bring the Z so that i can check it out!

 

They went out of business? Well, got shut down by the health inspector.

Also, in the 2 years the eurowerks guys were there, they had more drama than we ever did and we've been in that lot for what? 4 times as long? Worst we had has a homeless guy use Jason's car as a mattress. They had cars on fire (not one of theirs I know) and retards doing burnouts

 

Oh noes...they may ask us to leave!? Meh, i'll be there around 6:30 or 7, as stated above. If we get kicked out...we'll just move everything to Sheen's garage...lol.

 

One hour bump...Firestonez, be there or be...LAME? Lets get some people down there tonight to restake our claim to Uni. Ryan and i are heading that way in about 30 or so, come out and join us!
