Okay, so, over the weekend my car has stopped flashing (once when you arm it and twice when un-armed) its parking lights. I thought this could be related to a bad bulb somewhere. I checked all lights associated to the "flashes" (parking lights) and they all seem to work. I have only been able to located information on setting the chirp and vallet modes. I am not a fan of the chirp (had it disabled since I got it), but like the flash to indiicated that the car has been armed. So, can anyone help with this? Do I need to put the car in reverse, unlock all doors, engage child saftey and lock myself in the trunk ??? (just a little stab at some of the instructions I came accross in my manual) The car is a 2002 wrx sedan with stock alarm system. Thanks, Chris
I don't have any helpful advice, but I feel your pain. My alarm has a proximity sensor, and would chirp whenever anyone walked near it, parked near it, or every 30secs if the rain was heavy enough. It took me six months to find the super secret sequence to tap in on the fob to switch off the chirp. It sounds like you've inadvertently turned off the lights. Good luck finding your solution. Stuart.
Yeah, I had my someone else go start my car and this is what happens haha I disabled the beep. I can enable it and disable it no problem. What I prefered was there to be no beep and just the lights. Maybe I've just gotten lucky lol
To me it sounds like you need a new Keyless Entry Module... Possibly since everything keyless entry wise (lights, beep, locks) comes to and from that module. I have the service manual for it in front of me now.
Maybe try this? Valet mode When you choose the valet mode, the security system does not operate. In valet mode, the remote transmitter is used only for locking and unlocking the doors (and rear gate on the wagon) and panic activation. To enter the valet mode, open the driver’s door and keep the “UNLOCK/DISARM†button depressed for more than two seconds. The indicator light repeatedly flashes two times while the system is in valet mode. To exit valet mode, open the driver’s door and keep the “UNLOCK/DISARM†button pressed for more than two seconds. The indicator will stop flashing.
I hate valet mode! I accidentally put my car in valet mode all the time. Except I'm pretty sure on my car (05 sti) it enters valet mode if you press the lock button on the key phob with the drivers door still open. Could be wrong though.
Ah-ha, so the reason there was an issue is that I have a edm cluster and there was not a "security" light flashing. I was in valet mode the whole time. I faillllll. Solved! Thanks!
Bring it back from the dead, my security light is flashing, and I have the chirps, but I have never had the lights flash once since I have had it.
It's a setting. You set the lights via the key fob. You can either have them come on or not. You accidently shut them off. Big thread on Nasioc: http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1636339&highlight=door lock lights on off This literally took me 5 seconds of keyword searching.
