First off, I need a new clutch for my 2.2 turbo that came from a legacy. I would like to know what is the best clutch to purchase. Details would be nice. I want my moneys worth. Second, i dont have a working speedo or odometer I would like to know how much it would cost to get my gauges replaced as well.

There is no particular "best" clutch to buy. Buy one for your needs.

    Search is your friend.

T-Legs can use WRX clutch setups. If you are raising your power output up to over 150awhp you probably want to move up from the stock Legacy clutch setup.

    Thanks Guys !!

I'm think about buying the Stage 3 ACT Kit with a fly wheel. I'm probably running over 170HP Right ??? I mean it's the 2.2 turbo they are stocked at 160 HP and I have a Flow master exhaust and an cold air intake.

Forgot to mention I have a 94 legacy engine everything else is stock. Is the Heavy Duty Clutch going to be better ?

    Not wheel horsepower. That's crank. And I don't think it's 160. I think it's closer to 130-140.

I bet you're getting just over 100 to the wheels. Maybe 120.

A Stock or Stage 1 (stock disc, higher pressure plate) WRX setup is all you'll need unless you change out your EMS to allow you to bypass all sorts of 'protection' that the stock Leggy ECUs have. You're barely pushing 10psi (closer to 8) with the stock boost control and even with an aftermarket BC you can only get 12 before you hit fuel cut.

You're probably not going to need that stage 3 clutch, or really any thing more than a stock wrx like clutch. Maybe something like an exedy or act stage 1.

FWIW I'm running a 94 with Hallman MBC at 11.5 psi and a VF-8 turbo (close to a VF-22). At that power level I'm, at the most, considering a Stage 1 clutch setup when this (stock) clutch dies. I have no slippage issues as it stands right now. I'm considering upgrading mostly because of the greater number of flywheels available for the WRX clutch setup versus that of the stock Legacy.

edit: I'm also intercooled with a V2 JDM Slanty intercooler.

PM Fuji K. He's pretty busy, though. Otherwise MAP out here in Plymouth (maperformance.com) does installs. There are others, too. Check the Vendor For Sale section and start contacting people.

I would offer to do it but I've never done a clutch alone and I would want to do it on a lift. Some people prefer to pull the engine to do it but the guy I watched do it just dropped the tranny and that seemed a LOT easier.

Expect to pay $200-400 for a clutch job.

Stock HP rating for the Legacy SS is 160 hp. The NA 22E was 130hp.

You may have eeked out 10hp from an intake and exhaust, but hte chances are that your intake is hurting more than helping. Unless you just did the snorkus delete and coffee mug mod, then you're fine.
