I go to the place in hopkins/minnetonka on 7&73. Their selection is ridiculous. I didn't know there was another place by me as well, I'll have to check it out too. You guys are lucky. Back in philly, you had to drive to Delaware to get a decent selection.

Do they carry any of the rarer stouts?
Avery Mephistopheles Stout
Stone Russian Imperial Stout
etc?

I also like to find the smaller bottles of Belgians like Abt12, Rochefort8, Maredsous10, Duvel, etc. The big ones are hard to polish off alone with that kind of alcohol content.

Eh, I guess I'm too much of a snob. A lot of what I asked him about he said they don't distribute to the state (like the stone beer). I might have to make a road trip to Wisconsin apparently.

He did recommend me a wonderful porter though that I enjoyed last night. First decent semi-local (it was from Wisconsin) microbrew I've had up here since I moved from philly.

Tell your buddy to contact the New Glarus brewery and beg the brewmaster's wife to sell out of state. AFAIK, there is no distributor in MN for New Glarus beer. Maybe there is an opportunity for him there.

The guy does amazing work.
I have heard that he just can't keep up with demand, though, and that is the main reason that you can't get any of it in the TC.

One of my perks of living in WI. It is microbrew heaven over here.

I wonder if he has Lapin Kulta there. I have been looking for this stuff all over and have never seen a hint of it anywhere state side.

I <3 Four Firkins.

I hope they can get Slim Chance by Red Hook. I haven't been there in a while, but I had it while I was out in MT. It was FTW.

He said there is a beer sampling at the store tonight from 6-9 or so and it's going to be "ape poo-poo in here, so I hope you like crowds."

The Bitch Creek is pretty good, and the Lost Continent is a little more balanced then I typically like in a DIPA. Good though.

Also check out the Steamworks ThirdEye Pale Ale in cans. Perfect for going camping and not having to take **** beer with.

Somebody update us again when they're having a taste-testing. Maybe we can get a small group to head up there, then walk (stumble) back to Tony's if need be. Would love to explore something new. Currently my only faves are Leine's Honeyweiss and Killians.

We're not beer snobs, we're more beer geeks or beer dorks.

The beer crowd is so much cooler than the wine crowd.

Lift Bridge Free Sampling Event.
Monday, Feb 8th. 6:00-8:00pm.

This Monday the 8th we will have Steven Rinker ( and possibly some of the other guys...) here from Lift Bridge Brewery to pour free samples and chat with us about the beer. For that matter, Steve would be happy to chat about pretty much anything you like!

Lift Bridge is one of Minnesota's newest micro breweries, based in Stillwater, they are quickly becoming on of the states most popular. Brewing great beer certainly helps!

Come down and try the Crosscut Pale Ale: A hoppy American style Pale Ale brewed with Grapefruit peel.

The Farm Girl Saison, a Belgian style farmhouse ale that is dry, spicy and definitely a crowd pleaser.
See you at 6:00pm!

Lift Bridge Sampling is Canceled!

Old Man Winter has us in his icy grip once again. Normally this would not deter us from handing out free beer, however, with as much as 5 more inches on top of what we already have by 6:00pm tonight we thought it might be best to reschedule this one.

There'll be enough cars in ditches as it is, we don't want to add to the mess!

We have rescheduled the Lift Bridge sampling to March 8th.

We'll send out another reminder closer to the date. Thanks for understanding!

Brau Bros producing crappy beer. IMHO, avoid is like you do trees at Bimiji. :)

I've been to your buddies shop. Hes a very nice guy providing some decent beer. But on my two visits I didnt find anything I couldnt find else where or for cheaper. The prices there are marked up something awful.
