Looks like we will be doing it again this year. I have been in contact with Mark and he is in the process of getting us discount codes for the website. Most likely we will be at 10% for a single axle (2 rotors and pads) and 15% for 2 axles (4 rotors and 2 sets of pads). IF we can get a large enough group together that want to purchase all at the same time, we should be able to get a better deal. Another idea that we talked about was a group pickup time. We have done that in past years (when we ordered as a group) and everyone can show up on a Saturday morning and pick up your parts, get a quick tour of the shop and have a bagel and some coffee. If we want to do that, we have a couple of options. 1 - all orders have to be in by March 23rd to pick up on March 31st 2 - all orders have to be in by April 6th to pick up on April 14th 3 - some other weekend The weekend of April 7th is out due to Mark and Bill not being able to be at the shop. Let me know what you think and what you would like to do. We can continue to just purchase the rotors through the website and pick them up when complete (per order basis), have them shipped, or have a mini meet and pick everything up. DISCOUNT CODES fr1010 for a 10% discount for one axle set and fr1015 (15%) for two axle sets One axle set consists of 2 rotors and a set of pads. Thanks again russ. Got all 4 of my rotors last year during the deal. They are holding up amazingly under spirited daily driving.
I'm interested in a group buy for 4 rotors and pads, would be a great thing to do just before heading to BIR for the Proving grounds!
well, the group buy is going, so you can use the codes I posted or give Mark a call. At this point, if we want to make a mini meet out of it, we will have to have our orders placed by one of the dates I have posted above, or we can just order and pickup/ship. My parts have already been ordered, I am just waiting on more people to determine if they want to have a meet to check out their shop. Russ
Anyone?? We will have to have all the orders in by this friday if we want to pick up by the 31st, otherwise everyone will be on their own for product pickup. Russ
Rotors are individually priced 145 (ea) for rears and 158 (ea) for front and pads are 106 (st) for rear and 127 (st) for fronts. Total comes to $842.77 without the discount of 2 axles (Pads AND rotors) $716.36 after the discount is applied. This is where I got $800 from (although I was off) still not in my budget ATM until I get paid. Sorry JasonoJordan if this sounds rude, as I have no intention of making this sound that way, but the first post says the discount is applied "per axle" which includes the rotors as well as the pads in order for the discount to be made, that is unless a typo was made, in which case I apologize for my misunderstanding.
Is that for the slotted rotors? I was just on their site earlier and i could have swore that the bugeye fronts were closer to $100-125/side. Either way, without the monies...it's all spendy! Thanks again Russ for working with Mark and continually getting us these discounts year after year!
Slotted rotors with Hawk HP Plus pads. The rotors are just slightly more spendy then normal rotors but not the most expensive ones on the site. Agreed, Thank you Russ!
Just a quick note on HPS vs HP+, unless you're seriously going to autocross the car alot, go with the HPS. HP+ are a noisy pad that are hard on rotors and bite with face ripping capabilities, which is not always a great thing. it seriously depends on setup and vehicle whether these will deliver too much initial bite to be properly modulated. Their heat range is low enough they shouldn't be reccomended for road racing either. I use the HP+ in my WRX so i can get an effective brush of the brakes between elements with it's small stock rotors and sliding calipers, but i wouldn't recommend them in an STI with their awesome brembo setup, and would hesitate to do so in a 4-pot setup as well. You'll just be hitting ABS more frequently. Lots of people I with autocross prefer the HPS for the less bite factor as it does let you modulate braking considerably easier.
Mark is still honoring these discounts if you call in. They are a StopTech reseller so they were able to source replacement rings for my Cobb BBK (front and rear) from StopTech, treat them, and still come in cheaper than other online retailers charge for the non-treated blanks. The TX heat can suck it next summer.
