Sorry guys this didn't go very smooth. As I see it 1/2 the problem is members posting when they should've kept their communication to PM's or phone calls. Calling dibs, making posts about wishful thoughts (If I had the cash, if I was there, etc etc) didn't help this thread.

I can see where the seller would get frustrated with the process and how it became a cluster.

The mods have been talking about this very type of situation for a week or so. We will be changing the WTB/FS thread rules.

Almost agree 100%. Dibs is retarded and if the seller says first to pay/show up with cash then that's the way it is. If you don't like the way the deal looks then don't buy it. No one is forcing you to pay via paypal ahead of time if you aren't comfortable with it. In the end YOU decide how to spend your money, wisely or otherwise.

The part that I disagree with is PM. I like seeing the communication in threads. It lets you know what's going on and you don't have to guess on the status of things. It's also easier for everyone to go back and look at the transaction as a whole.

Back Road Runner, do you need the steels? If not I'm interested. ;)

I know these are big concepts and you are just fellating whomever agrees with yours. But the reason "First to Paypal" does NOT work is the same reason lots of folks on Nasioc got scammed. And YOU fit that bill perfectly, let me explain:

You have been a member for less than a month.
You have items for sale for VERY reasonable prices
You offer them for "First to PayPal Gets Them"

That is you right there, guess what you have in common with scammers on Nasioc?

You have been a member for less than a month.
You have items for sale for VERY reasonable prices
You offer them for "First to PayPal Gets Them"
You let about 10-20 people "PayPal you First" without telling anyone that the deal is over and the stuff is no longer for sale.
Then you dawdle for a couple days and tell everyone you are working on getting them their refund.
3 days and you have the cash in your checking account.
Then you disappear forever with all those people's money.

    ^^ THAT HAS HAPPENED ^^

A Proper transaction should go like this:

    List item for sale
    Buyer shows interest
    Negotiate price with Buyer
    Buyer Pays for item
If buyer is not able to pay for item, you move to the next interested party.
Repeat steps 2-5 till item sells.

Wow. Very political Mr Pres. Is insinuating a forum member is having oral sex with other forum members because he agrees with them the view of the club?
