Fuel question

    A friend of mine has a 95 Legacy wagon. Apparently when the fuel gauge gets below 1/2 tank, it will sometimes just shut down on them. If they pull off the road for about 10 minutes it starts up fine again, and they can be on their merry way to get more gas. The gauge is correct because at 1/2 tank it takes about 6 gallons.

    Any thoughts?

    could be fuel pressure?

    fuel sending unit....my car does it too and the sending unit is built in the fuel pump....i just figure by my mileage
