700 miles and going!! 17psi peak tapering to 10psi at 6500rpms with the wastegate arm tightened a little bit. The engine feels pretty good!!!
A few things about oil pressure. using Rotella 10w40 on COLD startup, pressure sits at 85-95psi idle Warm normal city/hiway driving pressure sits 62-82psi Warm idle the pressure sits at 20-26psi Hot normal city/hiway driving 2500-3500rpms 52-66psi Hot idle the pressure sits at 15-19psi Holding 6500rpms on HOT oil, pressure sits at 68-78psi JDM 12mm oil pump unmodded, extra clearance on the rod bearing and std clearance main bearings. AVCS & oil squirters(opens at 41psi per service manual IIRC).
Some B25 heads I was testing with the DD porting style. It's still got meat so the intakes can get the D-ports.
I rode in it the other day. Even with the TD04 it's effing fast. I can't wait to see it finished. Fuji, you and Nuke are two of my favorite people. Ever. Just thought you should know. <3

The replacement ECU came. I couldn't get it to start the car., Fuel pump primed and all... but it wouldn't let me start it. The ECU IS really married to the immobilizer I guess... SO what I did was de-soldered the MOSFET off the replacement ECU, and replaced my dead one with it. My Dad helped me solder it in, thanks daddy!! I drove her around... got to like 5gallons left of fuel in the tank... then put in E85. A base map was loaded in and I'll burn off this tank before the next tank comes in, which will be almost 100% E85 then. Right now the MAF gets moist because I have no snorkle in the fender, so the air filter element gets wet and the car runs RICH to the point of bogging when I go WOT. I'll just wait til it dries up and then we'll do some tuning this week. I'll post up an "airboy" dyno sheet of the furious TD04L on E85. For future reference; ECU immobilizer stuff http://www.iwsti.com/forums/ecu-tun...nics/113258-how-have-used-ecu-hand-ready.html edit... grammar
I installed the coilovers after adding some grease in areas that corrode. This is MAX lowerd. Any more and the knob for damper adjustment digs into the front axle boot.
Alignment set and corner balanced!!! The screen shot show's what it came in as. went out with -2.5* front camber -2.0* rear camber -.35* toe OUT front 0.00* toe rear
Awesome. I got a chance to take the Mamba out for a spin at Firestone on Friday. To be entirely honest I could not believe how much of a punch was possible out of the TD04. As you roll onto the throttle the way the boost is delivered it just viscous. I was also able to notice the limitations of the TD04, this motor needs a larger turbo. Oddly enough I was more entraced by how the EJ22 drives off boost. It has been awhile since I have driven an EJ22, and never one near this setup, but cruising below ~2k rpms and not having the engine bog when you add a little more throttle is a great feeling. It just blows the 2.0l out of the water for around town driving. I was most intently focused on the engine setup and power delivery but also could not help but notice things like the ride and braking. On small pot holes and such the 12k springs were not nearly as brutal as I was expecting them to be, in fact they were far from it. On larger bumps it became evident that this isnt really a street friendly setup, but otherwise not too bad. As for braking... out of habit I went to heel-toe downshift as I am used to in my car and almost are the steering wheel. The combination of the STi brembo brakes with true racing pads on them was impressive. For the short time I was driving it around town I only had to look at the brake pedal to slow down normally, I dont think I ever pushed the brake pedal past 1/5 of the way down the car wanted to stop immediately. To say the least, I was caught of guard. After the fact I have been left with a renewed ambition to finish my own motor project. I now realize the potential.....
I know. I have been doing research on cams and what not alot recently. Although I think I may need to actually contact a manufacturer to get my answers. What size injectors are you using?
His setup is pretty much a stock 06wrx with a 22t block So, that includes they stock dark blue injectors What are you looking to get (cams)?
That is good to know. I wasnt sure if you would run out of head room or not using E85. I am trying to figure out if it is worth it to go the extra distance to get AVCS (and aftermarket AVCS cams) or to just get aftermarket NON AVCS cams. Obviously AVCS is a nice advantage when dealing with stock cams/timing but when you go to a performace cam it could be a different story. I was thinking something in the range of 264-272 possibly a combination (272 Int, 264 Exh.).
