I just wanted to share that y'all can pick up a 5-quart bottle of the synthetic stuff from Green Earth Technologies sold at Walmart. I got a free bottle from their last promo and will be picking another one up since this is under a new promo. It doesn't take too long for you to get your check in the mail too. So get it while you can but just save me one on the shelf if you run out to get one today. ;)

Is this the stuff extracted from the hair of unwashed, homeless crack hos?

I was thinking it'd be more of a marketing strategy to penetrate the already-saturated car market with a new, green product than a plot to pwn3d the world, but who knows.

So if this stuff is bio-based can I tell my neighbor who always stares at me when I pour my used oil down the storm sewer that it's ok because it's a "green" oil?

I run it. The FAR deal on it occurs at least twice a year. The company has been running in the red for a couple years now, so don't be surprised if pending rebates get liquidated if they ever have to file for bankruptcy. Generally takes about 3 months to receive rebate check.

I have had it analyzed by Blackstone after 3.5 k miles -- reported didn't indicate any problems with it. Of course, I'm a boring driver, etc. I'll try and find the report if anybody's interested.

Can't imagine how fast that stuff is gonna break down. Your drivetrain contains some of the most expensive freakin parts on the car. Treat your gears to something trustworthy, especially if you like throwing your foot down. =D
