i get 23-25 in my rs just intown driving, and average 26-28 hwy going to my parents 4 hours into wisconi... best i've ever got was 31.6 last summer
I swapped in an ej22 intake tube and add a little viscosity thing I found out at the u-pull and jumped 1-2 MPG...not bad for $7.00.
I just calculated and my 02 WRX came out to 21 mpg. That's about 90% city driving, and I like to keep it in the high RPMs to keep the heart pumping.
I was getting arrount 21 to 23 before my mods and tune after I've been getting 25 26 steady city and highway mixed.
My 2002 wrx with 170,000 miles, stage 2 plus STi pink injectors and upgraded fuel pump on 20lbs-o-boost gets around 26mpg's when driving aggressively.
I get 18-21 with 75% Hwy driving. Best I saw was 22 with 90% hwy miles. 05 STI TBE w/accessport. I leave the DCCD in 65/35 mode and wingless in the winter....Now that summer is here, the winged trunk goes back on . I've read that the STI's MPG benefit from the 65/35 setting and no wing.
06 wrx sedan, vf39, supporting mods, lots of pnp'd/ceramic coating, from Cali to Minneapolis the wife got 34 mpg highway going 65 following me in the truck. Only filled up four times to drive 1958 miles. Meticulously tuned with Romraider is the reason for the high mpg.
Probably also the speed. I've gotten up around 27-30 MPG on each MNSubaru LaCrosse cruise, as we usually go about 55-60 the whole way there. City driving, on the other hand.....
I average 17mpg a tank in the impreza. But like some have said, if I cared about getting high mpg #'s i wouldn't have bought the subaru I'd rather pay a little more and enjoy driving my baby
02 WRX 147k miles 26.66666666667 mpg on my last tank, 50/50 city hwy. Same Car at BIR 6 mpg leason here keep it under 3000 rpm save a bunch of gas -
Why not just say 26 and 2/3 ?? Or better yet, 27. 6mpg at BIR - is that the drag strip or the road race track? Not that it would really matter too much.
The last 2 tanks I've actually gotten 27 and 26 MPG respectively. Ran some seafoam and then in-tank injector/valve cleaner thru it and its been happy as hell after that. o7 WRX Stg 2+
I actually haven't been so slow and steady. Accelerate to speed briskly, but then set the cruise. Mostly been highway driving, too.
I used to have an '04 WRX that did really well in mileage department. It had headers, turboback and a stage 2 tune. I got between 30-33 all the way from Fargo to Chicago, and back driving 75-80 mph the whole way
I havn't gotten any worse than 20 with the 05 STI stock. Best has been 22, but I haven't had any freeway driving, it's all be to work and back. For some reason since I bought the STI I drive a hell of a lot more, I think it may have something to do with the fact that the car is ****ing amazing!!!!
Big TD04H 5mm, 42mpg @ 76mph with the car empty, loaded down going to FL and Back we averaged 37mpg @ 78mph
Roughly 15MPG on the Freeway or 200 miles on full tank which i believe she is GAS GUZZLER...and of course my BIG FOOT on the gas Pedal.
2004 WRX Stock TD04 stage 1- best I've ever got was 23.9 on about 4 different occasions. Average about 20-22 with a combo of highway and city. Should also mention that it's an Auto, so it sucks power and gas
Not true. As soon as you get into a cruise mode, the converter locks up and you are running direct drive. My 02 bugeye was getting 24+ in town and 30+ of the freeway, and that was with a high stall converter and 18g turbo. Most cars would benefit from some around town cruising tuning. Russ
Well I guess that was my only logical explanation for the bad gas mileage as Bullwinkle did my tune and spent some time on part throttle/city tuning.
If you want to break that record, drive eastward through Nebraska -- I drove 413.5 miles on a single tank on I-80 in my Stage 2 WRX.
With the EJ22E w/ some minor mods: Auto: 32.xMPGs was the highest driving all highway (w/ a full car too, which I found kind of odd) 8MPGs was the lowest I ever saw (Ice Race) Saw around 23-24 on average Manual: 33MPGs committing down 394 every day, being very soft on the gas 21MPGs having too much fun. Saw around 25-26 on average Now, w/ TD04: 31MPGs record high on the drive back from Montana (also saw 19 on another tank that trip) 18MPGs having to much fun Been seeing 22-26 on average
OK, since I bought the car in Sept, my gas milage is SERIOUSLY poor. I'm stage 2 Cobb 93 tune, CAI, BOV, TBE. 2002 wrx manual 99k miles. I'm getting easily less than 20mpgs. I drive "spirited" but not insane. My previous turbo car was getting better than advertised mpgs with my driving style, so that isn't it. On a hwy cruise to northern WI with cruise on most of the way I was still hitting around 20mpg if that. This car is so fun and I do consider gas cheap (I may be the minority on that one), so it not a huge deal to me...just wondering what are the recomendations to improve this a little. With no change in driving style.
