12 MPG from wilmar to alexandria.- 02 hybrid 35r on e85. Possibly the reason was that one side of one of my exhaust valves was missing.

Fuel economy depends on a lot of factors including when you last maintained your vehicle. I average 21 mpg doing 75% city and light foot driving. Probably around 25 if all highway.

    Stock FXT w/ 130K miles
    TurboXS axleback
    225 60 16 all season tires @ 35 psi
    roof rails
    synthetic oil
    air filter partly dirty

Are you guys basing off the mileage computer? If so, it's total hokum, at least it was on my Outback. It stops calculating when the car is stopped (i.e. when you're getting 0 mpg) so it's very optimistic. The Outback (05 XT 5MT Stage 1) would consistently show 21.5 - 23 mpg average. But actual mileage (miles / gallons consumed) was more like 16 - 18. If you were doing straight highway it was much closer to reality, but still higher than actual.

    My 06 Impreza 2.5i 5MT gets 24 - 5 city/hwy mixed. Straight hwy it gets 27 - 28ish.

Hypermiling is for people with FWD.

automatic or 5/6 speed, it doesn't matter. it is all in how you drive. I was routinely getting 30+ out of my 02 bugeye with a high stall converter and a 18g. Once the converter locks up, it is direct drive, just like the manual.

...Very nice, plans for a tune? I'd be interested to see what you could get with a good tune at the same level

Eventually I'll look into getting one. For now, I'd like to retain the warranty in full. Whenever that's up, I'll look into getting a tune or doing Stage 2 or something along those lines.

Strict highway from Hibbing to the cities my 02 wrx pulls just under 28 mpg. That's with the cruise set at 70 from Hibbing to cloquet, and at 80 the rest of the way. Not bad for a 180,000 mile car. I'm really impressed with my 2001 mustang gt though, that gets 24 mpg at the same speeds and it has 4.10 gears in it.

Just last week, I drove 200 mi (w/my 2002 WRX) to Wilmer, MN and back to New Hope, MN. I averaged about 26.8, which was a mix of 30mph to 75mph (with a Bullwinkle tune, at 20 psi) although city, I average about 21 to 23mpg?

Drove from Madison to EC tonight. Couldn't get above 21mpg highway tonight with the wind and my roof rack on. Ended up taking it off half way and got about 26mpg.
