I bought some new Depo Gauges to replace my prosports and wired both harnesses together (power, ground, acc, the other one) with I believe 22 gauge wire. I wired them all up to the fuse box directly, reconnected the battery and turned the key, and they worked. Lit up and everything.

I pushed all the wires back in and sealed them all up. Turned the car on and the gauges didn't light. So I opened the cover back up and all the wires were still in. I was poking at some of the wires and the acc wire sparked and started melting and smoking. Just that wire though. I disconnected the battery and removed the acc wire. The gauges still do not light.

I was thinking of the possible problems and thought maybe the wiring gauge was too small? I used the same fuse locations as my prosports, the only difference being that I wired these gauges together using wire glue and tape and the prosports I did with two harnesses (one for each).

Frankly I'm frustrated and pretty much would rather pay someone to do it at this point, even though I think I could do it if I had the time.

    Any help is appreciated...

Is it possible to rewire the gauges with new wire and junk the old stuff? Starting from scratch sounds like the best idea. I'm free all day tomorrow if you want to stop by my place, but I know you work on Saturdays. Hit me up you have my phone number.

I managed to fix the issue by wiring them separate instead of together. Thanks though
