Ok...The resurrection of the wagon is on the horizon, and I want ALL my gauges to be setup so that I know what the heck is going on in my engine. My question/s is/are: Can I wire them ALL directly to a rocker switch so I can shut them off when I don't want them on? Should I put an inline fuse in the mix (I imagine)? What size fuse would be recommended? Gauges: Prosport - 60mm Performance Water Temp, Boost, Oil Pressure. Prosport - 52mm Performance Fuel Pressure, Oil Temp, (Oil)Tranny Temp. Autometer - EGT AEM UEGO Wideband. Any other advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, - Justin K.
So, where can a guy find a switched power lead near the fuse box area on a 2002 wrx wagon? I have everything wired up except for the a-pillar power wires. They all have appropriate inline fuses as well. I just need to find somewhere to tap them in. The gauges on that side are an AEM WBo2 (10a), Autometer EGT (4a), and Autometer Trans Temp (4a). Thanks, - Justin K.
Found this when doing some research on gauge installs last week: (think this might help you and let us know how it turns out so we can learn from ya) http://www.wrxfanatics.com/index.php?showtopic=30145 Interior: I made my own wiring harnesses using male and female spade connectors for easy install and removal. Wire was 18AWG and different colors would be recommended. I used the plug taped to the headunit harness for dimmed gauge lighting. I spliced into the cigarette lighter harness (a b!tich to remove) for switched 12VDC. The Autometer triple dash pod comes larger than the clock opening, which looks ugly. I trimmed it down to fit and painted it satin black.
