I'm in for at least one set, maybe two.

There's different types of supertones, right? Different tones, etc... is there anything considered better?

    Thanks,

I'm in to replace the "Pardon me" factory horn with a proper "Get the hell outta my way!" horn.

Some guy on nasioc asked where to get those red fans for the radiator...LOL
So when you have them on, tell them it's fans to help cool down your radiator

When I first saw them I thought they were some sort of aftermarket pulley. Then it occurred to me that pulleys wouldn't live in front of the radiator.

I need to get mine wired in. I'm tired of the pitiful little moped horn that Subaru saw fit to equip my car with. I swear, sometimes I think I'd be better off with a bike bell.

+1 on checking with Rallylights. The GB that I set up was less than that, and our members have a permanent discount there anyway which will be less than your GB price. Give the guys there a call and let them know you're with the club, I bet they'd work something out for you.

How about an installfest ? I'm OK with doing some of the mechanical stuff on my car, but I really don't like mucking about with the electrics.

Yeah, I would be willing to help. It should be pretty easy, I don't even know if the relay is required, it's just a matter of making some wires to reach the new install point for the horns.

I already have some fiamm dual tone trumpet style, I was thinking of keeping those on the stock horn relay and run the supertones off of the seperate relate. The fiamms are more omnidirectional, so I kinda want to keep those on the car.

Everything I've read says to use the relay, and run a line straight from the fuse box for these. They draw a lot more juice than the stock ones, and the stock wiring can't handle the draw. Plus, they won't be as loud as you expect if the wiring is crappy.

Messing with the fuse box = Why I haven't installed mine yet

Yeah, I've read both ways. Some people say they're plenty loud with the stock relay, others say wire in the new relay. I guess I was planning on using the the stock horn wires to trigger the hella relay, and run a fused wire directly from the battery for the power. But, I'll take a look at it on my car and decide what would work and look best.

I guess we should have Ray verify the exact pn, but I was looking at 85115, and it lists the max power requirements at 72watts. That would mean 6amps at 12volts I think... I'm going to check how big the stock horn relay is, but it might be big enough to handle these. The hella air horns draw a lot more power I think.

edit: hmm.. could be 2 x 72 watts, not sure. Here's what I'm looking at. http://www.rallylights.com/hella/supertone_horn.asp

+1 for Rallylights. I got my supertones from them in the last GB. I payed less than the price lsted on the website, for the horn after shipping. Also I have gotten the discount from them on other items. good guys, very helpful.

As for wiring the supertones i just wired them into the stock horn harness. i didnt use the relay which would give me some more uumf, and they are plenty loud. I got the quiter ones 113db or something, but at way lower frequency. lower frequencies carry farther.

You need to use the relay to get the full effect. All that's really required is a running a positive connection to the battery, negative to ground and splice the existing horn wire. If you do it up right with wire loom, nice weatherproof connections and an inline fuse you're looking at about an hour to install and another 10-15 bucks in parts. Do it right the first time and you'll never have any gremlins with it in the future.

I'll be down for a set for a buddy if the price is better than rallylights. (he's jealous of mine)

I'd also be willing to help out with installs - they are a snap and you don't need to open the fuse box at all just like webcrawlr said.

I have all the tools if someone needs help just PM me.

I think if u order from rallylights they are $56.74 - 10% + shipping for ea is like $5-$7 = $58.07 I'm gonna try to get it shipped with a full container so it would be cheaper...but I will see when I talk to them...=)
