Would you be able to get the RSi's in 205/50/17? If so, I'd snag a set of those. Otherwise, the 225/45/17 will do just fine, so either way, I'm down for a set. Thanks.
The closest tires would be, 195/55R15 $129.14 205/60R15 $111.96 the lower ratio is pretty limited with a 15" rim. now if you used a 16" then I could get you a 225/50R16 and that would be closest to your preferred size.
What makes the nokian tire so great compaired to say a winter hancook? Can some one please educate me on tires???
Nokian has a great history in the snow/ice tire arena. they have been making winter tires in finland for ever. Also I have heard that nokian uses actual rubber instead of wierd synthic stuff that some others use. this is supposed to provide better grip and longer life. Also on the RSIs its the same compound through the hole tread, none of this soft on top and rock hard on the bottom jazz like all seasons.
Nokian is best because nothing is more fun to say than Hakkapeliitta Get skooled: http://www.nokiantyres.com/valuesandhakkape_en
What would you guys recommend for me to buy? the RSi's or the hakka 5's? I live in Perham, mn where the plows are not the fastest at getting out.
Well im becoming on of the hated hand raisers... I'm still going to ice races, but not in my subie. Sorry you can take me off the list of buyers.
Better read up on current tire technology. Bridgestone, Dunlop, etc. have been using winter tires with 100% winter tire compound for 2+ years now. Some models put the tubular multicells only on the first 1/2 of the tread to provide better handling by creating a stiffer tread block. Once they hit the part of the tire with no multicells they are still good on ice and pavement but suffer on snow performance. What's better full sipe or partial? I guess that comes down to where you plan on driving and what type of handling characteristics you want from your tire. Each company claims to have the best setup though. Imagine that.

Mad-Man-Mike, The snow tires that I have for the wife's car won't work, so put me back on the list for the RSi's, please. Thank you, and sorry for being wishy-washy. -Ted
