I'm having trouble shifting my car in gears. It doesnt go into gear as smooth as it used to, so I have to force it in. With the car off, if I force it into 1st gear, it wont go into 2nd, but if I skip 2nd and 4th, it'll go into 3rd and 5th smooth. Same goes the other way around. If it goes smooth into 2nd, 4th and reservse, it wont go into 1st, 3rd or 5th. So when I'm driving, its really hard to go into each gear so I force it in. This started yesterday after I got off work. I drove it all day today and it got worse then from yesterday so I wont drive my car tomorrow. I have a few things in mind but not quite sure what it is. 1) Transmission or clutch fluid 2) Shift linkage 3) Trany going back or 4) clutch going bad My cars a 01 Impreza RS @ 93000 miles Anyone have an idea or thought what could be wrong?
