GI : Local Hockey Games

Any MNsubaru members interested in hitting up a local rink this winter for some pick up hockey games?

Totally in. found myself skating alone most of the time I went out last winter. What happened to the outdoor hockey scene around here???

 

Last year was pretty brutal. I forgot to sharpen my skates too. I will not forget this year, and hopefully old man winter isn't too much of a twunt this season to where we can get out and enjoy some hockey at some rinks.

Back when I was in high school we had games all the time happening at the local rink. I definitely miss those times. Would like to at least get to play a game or two maybe once a week if everyone's schedule could permit.

 

I'll play some boot hockey. but I do not know how to skate.....

 

I'd be down for some pick up games if the timing is right. Have a few buddies who would be down as well. @PandaStep teach yourself! Just go to an empty rink and go for it! I taught myself how to skate 4 years ago. Still can't skate backwards worth a damn.

 

Count me in!, I only played street hockey growing up as a kid (not many rinks and zeros frozen ponds in ohio). But I got the itch now that we have season wild tickets!

 

I know Woodbury is far for everyone, but if rinks get packed, Woodbury has about 8 outdoor rinks across town.

I might be able to hook up some indoor ice time, if we have enough people to make it worth it.

 

Assuming I can get ahold if some skates that fit and **** I'd be down.

try checking out play it again sports! I know they got some good used and others new for sale. shouldnt be terribly expensive either.

 

Just an fyi, skates run in different sizes, so make sure to try anything on prior to purchase

Bump. Hope to get my skates sharpened this weekend. Allegedly is going to snow next monday and kind of looks like the temps will be consistent enough for rinks to be flooded hopefully.

going to get my skates sharpened this weekend and check to see if the local rink has been flooded by my place. need to get skating!!!

 

Most won't be flooded for another week, but maybe this early freeze will help. The woodbury pleasure rinks open, but I don't even know what a pleasure rink means....sounds like something I once did drunk

I swang by Hansen park and it looks like they have two rinks. Both don't appear to be flooded but the nets are out.

Still on the hunt for my skates.

4. Wait anxiously till cities flood rinks.

Well I'm a little late to this thread but I'm up for it.

 

Not late but not sure which rinks have been flooded yet. might go check the local two by my place tonight to see if they did or not. very very eager.
