IIRC, they have to be cased, unloaded, and separate from the ammunition.

good... no ammunition is going with me, just cased in the trunk under clothes. In fact I will have the bolts from the two rifles in the glove box to make for damn sure.

^ yeah I think you need to have the breech open as well, which wont be a problem if you have the bolts seperate.

I'd like to find somewhere that has a longer range also. I have a friend that is in that gun club up in elk river that has the 1000 yard range.

    http://www.ersportsman.com/

To bad membership is closed for the year. Next year I'll be on the board to get into that place. My father-in-law is a member also. Let me see what I can do for getting us there.

I would love to get to something with at least 100 yards. I would definitely be down for mowing thru some .22LRs with my baby pistol! lol

I would like to get the new one out and aligned.

Robinsdale has maximum 25yrd ranges and 22 lanes.
Circle Pines has maximum 50yrd ranges and 16 lanes.
Not sure how many are full length. Have been to Robinsdale a few times and Circle Pines once.

Not sure what people want to do that way but I want/need to get out this Saturday and do this. I am up for either location.

Yup, they do .50 cal shoots in there all the time so you should be fine. I'll check the schedule and get back to you Matt, I think I could be up for this. I'm down for either location, but I do like Robbinsdale since I'm shooting shorter range weapons. Might have to try out some slugs this time around though.

Oh boy. Am I going to have to pull out the SKS again? :) Already took it to the range once. Crappy wolf ammo FTL, but I still have 480 rounds of it.

9am (range opening time) at Robbinsdale. That's how we did it before and we were able to get right in. See you guys there!

Whatever the father-in-law brings. He has a small armies worth of guns. He wanted me to try to use my open sights sks, but after the 100 yd range, I don't think i'll be doing the 600 on that. :ugh:

    Woot woot.

Ok, Lets get a list of guns going this time:

I'll be bringing the Yugo m59/66a1 (SKS) and a 9mm (I have no ammo for that, I need to stop at the store tonight).

I may bring extras depending if I stop at the father-in-law's or not.

SKS isn't worth much beyond 250yds anyway, that poor little round has all it's oomph robbed by the action.

I read somewhere that with the right ammo (197/198gr FMJ BT) my ole trusty 1938 K98k is good for 12" groups at 1000m. I just ordered an interesting scope mount and a Bushnell Elite 3200 Tactical 10x40 Mil-Dot to see exactly how true this may be. :yumyum:

This is ole trusty (dad snapped some pics of her for me the other day)

Well lets just say I am bringing 3 .45 calibers. Two are handguns and one is not.

    See whomever at 9am.

Liar. .450 and .45ACP are two very different rounds ;)

I'll be bringing the usual. .22LR and .45ACP Kimbers, 12ga Remington 870. Slugs and birdshot this time around, maybe a bit o' buckshot too.

Dang Martin. I just came from there to get ACP. Wish I knew you needed some stuff. Looks like Cabelas opens at 8. I could stop there and get you something or Walmart here in Buff if need be. I just might bring the 22 along too. Never sighted it in properly so this might be a good chance to do that.

I double-checked my finances and found out that I'm gonna be hard-pressed to even buy CHEAP tires. This was one of the expendable things.

Well, Dunlops for next year?? :(

Jen just bought her first firearm today.

    Savage MkII BVTS .22LR
    BSA "Sweet 22" 3-9x40
my trusty OIF Veteran Harris Bipod.

We are needing to break the barrel in, and find ammo it likes. Should be a tack driver from what I can tell :)

^ you can shoot pretty much any round at bill's. They have restricted ones but I dont think any of the common ones (30-30 or .223) are on that list. Only negative is that the range is only like 25yds...

Considering the fact that you can rent a .50 cal at the range I doubt that there's much of anything caliberwise that is restricted.
