    Going beyond stage 2?

    Car: 03 WRX Wagon DD
    Miles: 99,450
    Mods: Cobb catless DP
    SPT CB
    Invidia UP
    Grimmspeed BCS
    Bullwinkle tune
All maintenance is up to date

My Question is can I safely go to a VF39 or similar and supporting mods at my mileage? Would just keeping the TD04 and getting a TMIC, fuel pump, and injectors be a waste of time? My ultimate ? I guess is can I safely go beyond stage 2??

You can go beyond stage 2 with a good tune it will last for a while. Maybe check your compression make sure it's ok. I would start with fuel upgrades and intercooler before you get new turbo. I know some people run stage 2+ with over 120K and no problem. Go for it.

If your tune has been good and you've kept up on preventative maintenance, absolutely. The wear & tear on the parts will become more evident due to the higher mileage, but I'd suggest that you go for it.

Define safely. Is it a risk, yes. Depends on the car. I think getting the supporting mods for a bigger turbo and not getting the turbo is a waste of the $$. You could do just those and look to the corn (e-85) I guess. I went with a vf39 with supporting mods this spring and am at 111k now.

I ran a td04 on E85 with everything bolt on I could change. It was a waste of time. If you change that much, put a new turbo on there. Do a compression test, preferably a leak down test, and see what everything comes back as. I did a compression check and it seemed fine although I still had wring issues. A conservative tune on a vf39 should, in theory, be alright for the 2.0 to handle. Take that with a grain of salt though, I blew a rod out my block with a small 16g (but with 142k).
