Just finalized the deal on an 02 WRX with a spun rod bearing. Gonna swap the drive train from my 05 LGT into it and run a hybrid engine with the 2.0 heads on my short block. Transmission and rear diff along with the brakes will also make the switch. Just got tired of my Lgt problems.
I have an 04 fully built STI block I'm my LGT. Only had 10k since it was built. Thanks for the offer though.
Good news from the Grand Master (aka Nuke). I can run my entire long block with the WRX intake by using a cam sensor adapter. The tear down of one of the cars will commence this weekend.
02 does not have AVCS. Not real sure about how everything works, but I'm dropping in my 04 STI long block out of my LGT.
Yes, legacy is a losing proposition. I'm tired and out of resources. I have an 02 bugeye with a spun bearing already, so let the swap begin.
So what're you going to do with the LGT? I might be interested if you're getting rid of it...even with its demons
Already looked into them seeing as you've had plenty of issues with it. I'd be going backwards- probably a 2.0 or something. I'm looking for a new car, but I have an unbelievably strict set of guidelines for the new car- if I customize it I can make it work. Sedan Manual AWD Non DBW (yes I know LGT is, but I would make it work with a cable) I'm not afraid of gremlins, it's my job to fix those for Toyota. Slightly different game but very similar playouts. Lemme know when you have time. That WRX you bought- is it the black one with the rebuilt 5-speed,from CL perchance?
If you are sayin you could be persuaded to throw it in a field and use it for a shooting target. I am in. Good old dirty shooting.
