I have an 04 WRX with 165K on the clock and want to keep it running awhile. I've been quoted about 400-500 parts/labor for this locally.

Any suggestions? DIY is not a good option for me. Thanks guys!

Buy a used one for $100-$150 on NASIOC. If you're mechanically inclined install it yourself or I'm sure you can find someone locally on this forum that will do it for cheap or beer.

rebuilding a td04 isn't worth the cash or effort when used ones are plentiful.

Thanks for the suggestion guys, I've been told that my stocker is still in good shape, it's only the seals. Wouldn't it be better to stick with the devil I know?

Is there a good pro/amateur mechanic that lurks here that might want the work???

It's very cheap and easy to find a low (lower) mileage turbo and check out my services thread if you need additional help.. (daves garage) or PM me...

Just find a used TD04 in good shape and go to Dave for the install, you (and your pocketbook) won't be disappointed.
