OK, I know this is a ridiculous first-world problem, but my in-laws side of the family makes gift lists and I have the hardest time coming up with what to put on mine. Everything that I'd really want is way too expensive; unfortunately no one's going to get me coilovers for Christmas In the past I've requested donations to their favorite charity, but people keep asking for actual gift ideas. What have you asked for / received in the say $20 to $100 range that you've really appreciated? Thanks!
Socks! Seriously socks I wear smart wool all year. They cost $18 a pair so $100 goes pretty quick. Once you go wool you'll never wear cotton again!! Just remember to hang dry.
That's a great idea, I do have a collection of smartwool/icebreaker socks, but some of them are getting old and falling apart. I haven't bought replacements because they are a little pricey... Thanks for the reminder! Keep them coming!
Work on your car much? I highly recommend getting a head lamp. @Curry gave me the idea and that's all I use now when I work on my car. Super convenient. Curran recommended this one, I researched like crazy anyway to find the best light output and battery performance combo...kept coming back to this one and it's the one I got. It does in fact have great light output and good battery life so far. http://www.amazon.com/Petzl-E97-PG-Tikka-Plus-Grey/dp/B009064MWC My other favorite pickup on black Friday (I actually have an extra one because my original one hasn't died), is a battery jumper and tire inflator combo. I use it all the time for filling tires with air (mainly for autox), but also comes in handy when you or someone needs a jump. Mendards usually has this one on sale for $30-$40 on black Friday. If you want to buy my extra one, PM me. Mine is similar to this one, but no light or power outlet: http://www.walmart.com/ip/Stanley-F...ty-Auto-Assistance-Road-Side-Service/38243769
These might be odd requests, but if you do work on your car, shop towels, latex gloves, hand soap, etc. If people are wanting ideas, sometime the simplest ideas are the best. +1 on the headlamp, these are invaluable. I also like stuff bags. I use the small ones to store everything from GoPro accessories to socks and underwear when I travel. They are a great way to seperate clean/dirty laundry.
A random orbital polisher. I wish I would have bought one years ago. A wheeled cart to use in the garage to set your tools/parts or detailing supplies on while working on your car. Again, wish I would have bought one years ago. A collapsible snow shovel to keep in the trunk. A set of swivel head Gear Wrenches. A torque wrench and or plastic sleeved sockets to protect the finish on your wheels. A volt-ohm meter. A decent digital tire pressure with a bleed valve, cause you know you always put in just a little too much air.
