looking for a place other than tires plus to get some tires mounted up and my directional summer tires cross rotated. tired of dealing with tires plus. they said i didnt have to cross rotate on my awd car and when i told him that the outside edges were wearing out he said i have alignment issues. i said of course i do. i have it set up with a pretty good amount of negative camber up front and have front to back rotated allready and now it is time to cross rotate. which of course means the summer tires need to come off and be remounted. aside from vibrations at particular speeds what are the disadvantages/risk of not having tires properly balanced? extra wear on suspension components? i typically dont bother balancing snow tires and rally/rallycross tires as the snow/dirt/mud ruins the balancing pretty fast. and have noticed no major problems on my cars when those tires are on there.
look and see if there is a discount tire. i like them as they do free balancing and rotating for the life of the tire if purchased there.
I go to the Fargo Tire down on 32nd ave (across from the Flying J) for my mounting/balancing/alignments... mainly because I know the owner. They're not bad, but occasionally say some silly things (them trying to talk me down from snow tires because my car is AWD springs immediately to mind), and the alignment guy may or may not be back on time if you schedule an alignment right after lunch... but he does good work when he's in. If you tell them what you want, though, they typically don't have a problem getting it done and/or understanding why you want it done that way.
Greg, tintmasters can do mounting and balancing of tires, but we dont do alignments, but we can recommend people to do that for you. stop in or give us a call
