I agree with the lack of brake upgrades. What I've found is that the suspension and tires help much with the braking. Also, play with the ABS settings in the options menu before the race. And I do miss the "used" wheel section from GT4. Being able to paint cars is very nice tho. Still looking for an Evo9 for the grey paint chip.
anyone else get pissed off at their spec b driver? i give him the best car to drive in, and he ****s it up! i play the same race in spec A and beat everyone by a mile and some how he cant seem to stop crashing into stupid ass walls randomly and wont pass people! also why does my spec b racer specs all go up other then experience? any ideas?
It took me a couple races to figure it out but you have to set your bspec driver up with the right tires. So when I have him drive the fully modded 599 I'll throw sport softs up front and sport mediums in back. But yeah, he still only wins by a few seconds in a 10 minute race compared to the 1 minute plus margin I put up. What do you mean by experience not going up? I have my guy through all of the beginner and intermediate races with all golds and halfway through the advanced and his experience is at 10. It moves slower than your aspec driver bc of the special events and license tests that boost your aspec drives experience. Are you talking about the personality scale? BC I think that stays constant. Hopefully they'll update some of the little quirks like the standard car thing and the brake tweaking. So far, I'm enjoying everything but the used car market. I've been checking after every race for the last 20 or so races and the RUF ctr2 hasn't shown up yet
What pisses me off in the game - Not being able to race. For ****'s sake, if someone tries to take my line when I've got the advantage, let me bump them without disqualifying me. This alone is making the licensing process a bitch.

i ment in the drivers personality, that experience isnt going up at all. you on PSN or what? and im a little upset right now i just had a civic si on spec B accelerate past my 99 sti pushing over 450 HP and it says the civic has less then 225! WTF ( granted im in first now but how did he get past me on a stright?
lol that one is a bitch, wait like a second later and take the way inside and get past him and on the yellow camero's ass and get the next 3 cars on the next corner/straight and brake later then them on the 3rd corner (tight corner) to gain some more places i still have not done better then 2nd though 1st keeps pulling away like im standing still
Oh, I can get into 3rd, but you have to drive super aggressively to get into first. Which means either you drive really hard and risk the walls, or the other cars simply up and pass you. Also, I had the same thing happen to me in B-spec. I have a nearly 500hp Sti, and I somehow got 2nd place on one of the early races.
Yeah, my strategy for bspec is give my driver my best car available and fit it with the most aggressive tires possible. Just brfore the starting lights I'll set it to "pass" and babysit until he's in first. Then I'll pace down so he doesn't burn up the tires and spin out. All that usually only takes a minute or two then I can go about my life and let it sit for next 10-15 minutes. The lack of time compression in bspec sucks... it's going to REALLY suck in the endurance races. Oh and gold in IA10 with the lambos sucks too.
I didn't even notice that there was no brake upgrade....huh I love my logitech driving force GT wheel. it made GT4 much better. Especially the high speed things, I went back and did the NASCAR challenges, and immediately got golds, where I was struggling to get silver with the controller. Also, I love adjusting the 4WD tq split on the fly! I can't stand the menu setup. trying to get the cursor where I want it with the d-pad is just obnoxious. GT4 was bad, but this is worse. and yea, can't get new wheels for used cars. WTF. actually, the used car market in general. There are 1,000 cars for the game, theoretically, but the dealerships only have a handful, and the used car lot even less. So you have to have the cash available when you stumble across something you want. the rally gameplay. the notes are terrible, and the map is in the way (anyone figure out how to disable that?). And the 5-second wall-hit penalty. lame
the 5 second wall hit is so random too, sometimes i hit the wall hard and nothing others i just tap it and i get the penalty its stupid, and i argee lots of cars are cool but i would like to modify them a little more. and for aerodynamics i wish they had more options! and i want wheels damn it!
P.S. **** THE NASCAR ****! idk if its me or what but its such a pain in the ass to get them! i cant get better then bronze on the imtermediate level 2nd race
The thing about the used/standard cars that irks me is that you can't do mods to them. That pretty much makes them useless for all but the make specific races. I'm hoping they add that later in some kind of update.
I still don't know what you mean about not being able to modify used cars. I have been able to mod every single one of them I've bought so far.
Yup... I kept scrolling and finally settled on L. Fuchs... I dunno how you would pronounce it but I know how I do lol. Also, pro-tip... just like in the old gt games you get more hp by getting an oil change on a new car... also make sure you keep up on your oil changes otherwise you'll have to rebuild your engine more often. I can't remember if it was the veyron or the 599 or one of the race cars but I spent nearly half a million credits rebuilding an engine for one of the expert races. Oh, and I'm both looking forward to and dreading level 40 at the same time (although I'll probably quit well before I get there... I've been doing b-spec a bit today. getting pretty good at it, even without much of an advantage. just got to keep that little "pace" bar in the middle. Just spent the last half hour or so copying a bunch of music to the hard drive.....
I want to give everyone a couple days to get some cars and things together. If I were you guys, I'd be saving up your money so you can play along, as you'll need to buy cars.

I updated the first post with names. It appears we have 18 names. Which means if everyone wishes to participate in a race, we may have to do a tiered racing bracket sort of thing. Split the group in half (randomly) for each event, and have two groups race to "qualify" for the final. I have yet to play online with this, what I suggest is a first race to get everyone used to the mechanics of the online play. An "exhibition race" if you will. We'll pick a car that everyone likely has or can afford, and just race them plain jane. Again, I don't know if I can restrict HP and create classes of racing, but if I can't we'll just have to go on the honor system. BTW, there is nothing more lame and pathetic than running over powered cars in a friendly tournament. If you are caught doing so, not only will you be banned from our events, you will also be an enormous subhuman sack of ****. It would be great if once we figure out how it all works and what we can and can't do, to setup weekly events or every other week.

I'm thinking it will involve everyone buying themselves a cheap FF N/A car with under 100hp, unmodified (stock). Not sure yet how we will reward winners. Again, honor system. Maybe "pinks" like Sheen suggested. Not sure yet. We'll see how that goes. We may have to denote a cheap car as a unit of in game currency, such as finding a car that costs the least and making racing entries cost X number of those cars.
I won the veyrona couple days ago and have been mopping up with it lol. Painted it flat black and hface ben trolling around online with it. You win it on the last race in aspec pro... Lame part is the last race in expert only got me my 3rd 350z... Youd think the harderrace should win you a better car
Jason just make people pay in karts. They cost 5k at the new car dealership at the gt store. You can sell them for around 1k. Also I don't cheat, I just logged 40 hours this weekend lol

Haven't seen it yet. But I have over half a mil in the bank and am just tooling around playing 2-3 random races at a time and trolling the used car dealerships right now so if I see one I'll buy it and trade it to you.

I'm specificly looking for the 1968 SRL311 Fairlady. It was actually a Datsun, but it'll be marked as a Nissan in this game. I want one because I have one.
yeah some cars just don't show up. Like this stupid RUF that I've spent 2 days trying to get! I did see the Jay Leno tank car the other day though... good luck getting the 80mil to buy it! I'm guessing it's a prize car way down the road. Well I have another issue with bspec. I have golded out every single race available at level 12 and can't get to 13 to do the next race! So far bspec isn't hard, just really time consuming and also a waste of money for stupid peopl like me who sold their ****ty kei cars and yaris' after beating those races in aspec
I've just become particularly fond of the "garage" button on the race requirements page that only shows cars you own that are eligible for that race. using that neat little feature, I discovered that my McLaren F1 Race car was eligible for the Euro hot hatch race, and the British lightweight. Nice!

damnit. Knew I should have done that! Guess I'll have to repeat some races and build up my bank roll! I'm looking for the CTR2. I saw the 996 gt3 and it was even the same arctic silver as my car, but I'm holding out for the other one bc I want to see if I can do a clean run around the ring in it (doubtful!).
