lol i have played alot and it has never happened im at a lever 20 spec b and a lever 22 spec a. i think that is a good ammount of time put in lol
he only got it cuz i think he is the only one that plays more then me! lol unless he just keeps his PS3 on constantly! he is the only one in GT5 more then me
no, there has to be a fair bit of randomness to it. I've been on a lot the last couple days, but you'll notice you have more than double the racing miles than I do ;-) Now, time for the randomness to bring me that '84 300ZX!
There's only an '83 listed on the official car list for the game Which I guess is probably the same (jdm 83 vs usdm 84) Not a single one of my cars (current or past) are in the game either The closest is a '88 Supra Hopefully one of the updates adds more cars as well as updates some of the standard models to premium. If they also add bikes I'll be playing this game for years.
yea. I meant '83. My dad's is an '85....so close enough. And no, none of my cars are available either. Closest is the Celica GT-FOUR. which is only a little similar. I figured with 1000 cars, there'd be a better selection, but it seems they added a handful of new cars, and a few hundred variations and trim levels of existing cars. downloadable car packs would be awesome, assuming they don't charge too much for 'em.

Let me just say this. The Lamborghini Countach has the finger of God himself on the backside of it. You know how I know this? Because every time you turn the front wheels in the slightest, the rear end seems to be pushed out from behind you by some sort of mystical power. At first I thought it was too much torque just spinning the rears upon exiting turns, but seriously, even long sweeping turns under flat throttle the back end just seems to get ahead of the car. If that is how those things actually drive, I'm almost ashamed for having idolized that car in my youth.
The elise too. I finally broke down and bought a driving force gt wheel last night. It's going to take me a while to get used to it since I've been using a controller since GT1, but so far it makes handling cars like the countach much easier! Takes some of the arcadiness out of the game and makes drifting much more enjoyable as well.
Okay, so how the **** do I get my B-spec drivers to start RACING and stop this stupid ****ing DRIFTING? B-spec is dead to me.
his stress must be too high, mine never drifts much. also that lambo you have pics of looks exactly like mine copy cat!
Yeah, B Spec is absolute horse **** too. There's really no way to explain it other than "Find one that is DEAD CENTER on the aggression scale." If they are even slightly into the blue, they drive like pussies, and if they are a smige into the red, they drive like they stole it, including throwing it into every wall and dirt patch. The other attributes don't really even matter. The aggression is the key factor. If you get a blue one, you wont win very many races with golds. If you get a red one, you might win more golds, but later on in the Bspec game, you'll spend alot of money repairing your cars that he's destroying.
I don't even own a Lambo in the game. Sorry. The only pics I have are of my Renault Clio Sport and my Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evoluzione. I WISH I could take pics of my new Stratos, but, well, GT5 is gay like that and won't let me take pics of a "Standard Car."
BTW, here's today's GT5 gripe. I remember when Gran Turismo gave you good prize cars. And by "Good" i mean, they were relevant to future races. Granted, I've gotten a few good cars as prize cars, but for the most part, they suck. For instance, you get a Lupo Cup Car. if you do a minimum of mods to it, you are sure to win the Lupo Cup race at the Nurburgring. And what do you win for winning the Lupo Cup race with a 1.6L Lupo Cup car that is tits to the wall race ready? A standard model 1.4L Lupo. Why? WTF would I ever want one for? Odds are that at that point in the game, I've already won the hot hatch race and whatever other dumb little hatch races the game has thrown at me in the beginner and amateur series. What am I going to do with another little bull**** car? And with B-spec making such a huge showing in this version of the game, I'm afraid to sell ANY of my cars off for fear that I'll need them later when my retarded B-spec driver has a race that requires one. Also, you want a surefire cheap way to win vintage muscle races, put in the fully adjustable transmission, and set the top speed around 180. That's how you win. Because all those old cars have 4 or 3 speed trannies that top out around 105mph. If you can get your car to 140=150 on the straights, you are golden.
The game has it's good points, and then it's follies. It does have very decent graphics, except for when the frames don't quite render smoothly and you get the random screen glitches. Saw it on my LCD first, but realized it was the game and not my TV when Subytek was playing it on a Plasma. Not too badly, but noticable. I don't like how out of the 1,033 cars in the game, only a very select few (17?) can be race modified. WTF! I remember back in GT2, you could race modifty pretty much every car in there. They got different race paint schemes, roll cages, wings, wheels and etc. I don't like the fact that you can only change wheels on the premium cars either. Wheels? Really? What is so hard about swapping a wheel. Hell, I can do it a cheesy facebook game, why not on a $60 game it took 3+ years to release! Their choice of music sucks, thank god for custom soundtracks. I do like the realistic handling and the actual challenge that some of the "special" events take. The VW bus one is very slow moving, but run the track a few times and you will figure out where you can take off a few seconds. The NASCAR stuff it to be done with the lightest of steering inputs, and hoping you don't nudge a cone. So far, the biggest challenge is the Sebastian Loeb? rally stuff (Level 16). I got the first one with bronze, but cant even touch the second two. Guess I will never be a rally star!
If you guys still need credits get yourself a bargain supercar like the Nissan gtr and do the pro series supercar race on daytona speedway, 3 laps less than 1 min per lap and nets ya 17000 then when ya hit driver level 17 I think you can do expert series turbo cars one on high speed ring.. 3 laps about a min per lap 36000 credits. Can get over a million credits in not much time at all.
Yeah, I was highly annoyed when I found out that I couldn't "race modify" all of the Premium cars. I was so pumped to race ready the '10 (or maybe its '11) sti 4 door with the big ass wing... but of course nope I couldn't. So I race modified an Evo. Am I one of the few who enjoys the music? Well.. some of it. I really dig the jazz songs. Since I play guitar and love jazz guitar I guess that comes natural.
Everyone has been sweating the visual modifications a lot on this game, but that's what games like NFS and Forza are for. I picked this up because I knew it was going to be full of PITA challenges like GT4 had. My gripes are the little things, the details. There's some inconsistency between some of the tuning UI: like even though I bought snow tires for a car they don't show up in the fitting screen, you have to go into your gifts section to install them. Another frustrating choice was to make the AI impervious to rules: they can hit walls, smash into you, and run over cones and they aren't penalized. The worst was when I was almost through the Lotus Top Gear challenge and entered the last corner to see a cone that had been knocked into the middle of the lane from a previous AI car or something. I thought it wouldn't matter to bump it because it was in the track but it got me DQ'd. I will grant you that the paint chip thing is a bit tedious. I'm not sure why the decision to make them usable only once rather than adding them to a "paint portfolio" and usable forever. I would think the paint chip idea could have been used as a collectible, unlockable item that made acquiring cars a bit more fun. Now I'm afraid to paint my Caterham yellow until I get another yellow paint chip.
This. Especially the TopGear test track events in Special. Such crap. I love coming around through the followthrough or whatever, and watching the other cars plowing through cones and pushing echother around. Then I barely tap a door with my bumper and I'm out of the race.
Wow, taking photos in this game shouldn't be this much fun! I'm slowly trying to clone my current and past cars:
dunno. I hit 270+ on ssr7 in practice and 255ish on sarthe on one of the straights (without cheating).
I have a race open... 'Kdm y0' track - Nurburgring Vehicle HP/weight regulations apply 305hp or less tires are unrestricted
Is that DGM on that Legacy? Can you dupe that paint chip for me because that's what color my Spec B is and I'm trying to mod up my Spec B in game to match the mods on my current car. Well, except for the JDM 2.0L.
It's supposed to be OBP, although I'm pretty sure I bought a DGM sedan as well. What's you PSN name? I'll send you the color chip if I have it. I'm pretty sure they got rid of any color chip exploit.
I think you can still dupe them by gifting the car of that color to a dummy account (or a friend) and back. The friend would get the paint chip which could then be traded back to the original account. I don't think you get the paint chip again for receiving the same car back but if you do then you could get up to two additional chips each time. I haven't tried this yet though. PSN is metos12. Thanks!
Sweet jesus, I have some really fun paint chips if you want them. Some sort of lime green matte finish, a really feminine pink color, that orange that comes on the Countach in the used lot.
Now that we know how to farm them it'd be pretty easy. I've got a metallic British racing green but I've been looking for a matte one if someone has that. I'm up for trading things around to get more paint chips of other colors too. I'm planning to kill off the final rally challenge if I break 20 tonight. Has anyone cashed in their historic rally car voucher? I guess the Lancia Stratos and Delta S4 are both prize cars in A-spec races, what other historic rally cars does the game have? The big Quattro, RS200, 205 T16, and 5 Turbo? I haven't seen any of these in the used lot yet.
Sounds like a good idea. I heard about how you can get around the 1 gift per day limit as well. I think that's about it for the classic rally cars. I think there's a classic lancer as well. The rally cars in the game are a ton of fun to bash around since they show the most damage I think. Unfortunately the rs200 is around 2mil credits so I probably won't get that until I'm able to get every other car in the game that I want/need. Currently I'm trying to save up the 5mil credits for the formula gt, but if anyone has one in their garage maybe I could rent it? I'm also looking for a nascar racecar. If anyone needs to borrow a car for a race, lmk. I have pretty much every car needed to beat all of the aspec events halfway through extreme. Most of them are fully modded so they work for the bspec races as well.
The nice thing about the rally cars is that they must have restrictor plates or something because they have obscene amounts of torque compared to their power output. That means you can use them for HP-restricted races and walk on the competition. I used my Lancer rally car to lap the 3 other cars in the intermediate rally challenge, it was a total joke. But then all of the off-tarmac events I seem to have a gift for. I may have a NASCAR slab in my garage soon, though I have to unlock that last challenge series and try it out. I've got straight golds in it so far. If not I'm going to buy the Denny Hamlin car either way as he's our company driver (a little employer loyalty). I might want to borrow your Gallardo so I can get the Delta S4 rally car prize. My GT-R stealth car has been able to dominate most races it's allowed into, and it only cost 500cr to do engine and chassis overhauls so it's also an economical option for putting a lot of wear and tear on it. I'm a bit protective of my CE cars though.
I may take you up on that car rental thing, Sheen. I'd like to get some more A-spec done, and I need some extra cash anyway.
lmk about the nascar. I was considering just beating the advance challenge, but my wheel is in one room and the ps is in another. The beginner and intermediate nascar challenges were a breeze with a wheel, but after over 10 years of playing gt with a controller, I usually default to that for the aspec races. You're welcome to use the lambo whenever. That, the 599, the minolta, and the race modified zr1 are my work horses. I used the lambo to grind my way to lvl 20 in both a and bspec so I think I have the suspension tune pretty well sorted out. lmk which race(s) you are shooting for and I'll send a car your way if I have it. Thanks but I'm good now. I just painted a red one and called it good enough. Then I went in dropped a ton of credits on it to max it out but don't plan to ever use it in a race lol
I've just started playing and have only had one good session since receiving it. I haven't been to impressed so far, these cars understeer like crazy. I was really looking forward to the night, weather and really racing features. With my limited seat time so far the car that has impressed me the most is the FT-86. If the real thing drives just as nice it'll be a winner in my book.
Sheen, I'll see if I can gift you my Nascar. Although from what I've heard, it's not do-able with the preorder cars.
Nope, couldn't gift the NASCAR. sorry. Although, when I went to try, I noticed that I had received a gift. Thanks for the Z, Sheen!!
